Barron Trump Moves Into White House While Continuing Studies at NYU DC Campus

Barron Trump has returned to the White House as he begins his sophomore year at New York University’s Washington, D.C., campus, according to sources familiar with the arrangement, as reported by The New York Post.

The 19-year-old first son spent his freshman year at NYU’s main campus in Greenwich Village, where he was frequently seen on and around campus.

He had been living at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan and often traveled between New York, Washington, and Florida to be with his parents, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

NYU’s program in Washington allows about 120 students per semester to study in the nation’s capital. The courses are geared toward students pursuing degrees in politics, policy, economics, history, and journalism, providing an opportunity to live and study close to Capitol Hill.

President Trump hinted at his son’s college choice last summer in an interview with The New York Post. Shortly after, Barron was spotted on campus in Manhattan.

At the time, the president remarked, “He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy. And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny.”

Barron’s decision to move into the White House comes as the First Lady has expanded her role in the administration’s second term.

Melania Trump has taken on policy and cultural initiatives, including spearheading anti-revenge porn legislation and launching a school-based artificial intelligence initiative encouraging students to submit proposals on ways to use the technology.

She has also been active on the diplomatic front.

The First Lady has publicly urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to return Ukrainian children taken during the conflict, and she has reportedly pressed President Trump to take a tougher stance toward Moscow following strikes against civilians.

Earlier this year, Melania Trump accompanied the president on his first official trip of the new term to North Carolina, where they met with victims of Hurricane Helene.

She later unveiled a postage stamp honoring former First Lady Barbara Bush, participated in White House Easter events, and attended the opening night of “Les Miserables” at the Kennedy Center with the president in June.

The White House and NYU declined to comment Tuesday on Barron’s living arrangements.
