Clarence Thomas Laughs As MS NOW Reporter Barrages Him With Questions

An MS NOW reporter encountered Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas walking through the House side of Congress and continued to pelt him with questions, while he chuckled.

The reporter, Mychael Schnell, asked Thomas why he was at the House. When Thomas asked her to repeat the question, the reporter asked who he was there to meet. (RELATED: Supreme Court Rules Trump Can Fire Executive Officials)

“Oh, nobody,” Thomas responded with a laugh.

NEW: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas just walked through the House side of the Capitol.

He didn’t say why he was here. But told me he was meeting with “nobody.”

I said tomorrow will be a big day at the court. “I guess so,” he responded.

When Schnell asked if he was there to meet with the speaker, Thomas said no.

“Then what are you doing up here today?” Schnell asked.

“Oh, just walking,” Thomas responded, and turned to grin at Schnell and laugh again. Schnell pressed him on whether he had any meetings there.

“None that I’ll tell you about,” Thomas laughed.

“Tomorrow will be a big day at court, huh? Final decisions?” Schnell asked.

“I guess so,” Thomas said.

Schnell asked whether he wanted to give a sneak peek of any of the decisions.

“Uh, nope!” Thomas laughed.

Schnell continued to ask him why he was there and what he was meeting about.

“Anyone in House GOP Leadership? That’s who has offices in there,” Schnell said.

Thomas stopped responding to her questions and just chuckled. As she kept pressing him, Thomas told her she had good questions.

“You wanna answer any of them? Any comment at all?” Schnell asked.

“No,” Thomas laughed again.

He paused to shake the hand of a police officer who was thanking him before walking down a hallway.

Thomas famously became a popular internet gif when a TMZ reporter found him coming out of The Capitol Grille after lunch back in 2016. Similarly, Thomas just laughed while the reporter asked him questions, with the Supreme Court Justice eventually pressing why the reporter was photobombing him. When the reporter introduced himself, Thomas replied, “I know you. I’m just giving you a hard time.”

Thomas is the second-longest-serving U.S. Supreme Court Justice, and if he serves for two more years, he will become the longest to ever serve. He has appeared 10 times before Congress to testify and was last seen in Congress in 2010.
