Sports commentator Clay Travis has publicly challenged the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces to a high-profile exhibition game against a team of eighth-grade boys, saying he is prepared to put $10 million behind the outcome and donate all pay-per-view proceeds to charity.

During his remarks, Travis expanded on a previous wager by directing his proposal specifically at the Las Vegas Aces, the league’s defending champions.

“I will pick my choice, an actual team of eighth-grade boys, and I will put $10 million on the eighth-grade boys.”

Travis emphasized that he was referring to middle-school-aged athletes rather than older high school players.

“These are young, just recently even able to grow a mustache or even have hair under their armpits, boys, roughly 14-year-old boys.”

He reiterated that his proposal involves an eighth-grade team competing against what he described as the league’s top club.

“I will pick an eighth-grade boys team, and I will put $10 million on the eighth-grade boys to beat the best WNBA team out there, the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.”

Travis stressed that he was not proposing a matchup against elite high school athletes.

“Not even a high school state champion team, just an eighth-grade boys team of my choice.”

He also described how he believes the event could be organized and broadcast.

“We will put it on pay-per-view.”

According to Travis, all revenue generated from the event would be directed to a charitable organization.

“We will allow all the proceeds to go to Tunnel to Towers.”

He said the $10 million prize would be awarded if the boys’ team won the exhibition.

“If the eighth grade boys win, I will give them $10 million.”

Because the players would be minors, Travis said the funds would likely need to be handled through legal financial arrangements.

“May have to put it in trust accounts for the boys, cause they’re all minors.”

Travis framed the challenge as a response to comments he believes have been made about the level of respect the WNBA receives from the public and sports fans.

“But you claim that you don’t get enough respect WNBA.”

He argued that his proposal gives the league an opportunity to respond directly to his challenge on the court.

Travis concluded by asking the league and the Las Vegas Aces to publicly accept or reject the proposed exhibition.

He ended his remarks by saying the next move belongs to the defending WNBA champions.
