An incident at the second weekend of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival drew attention after a video showed an activist falling while attempting to remove an Israeli flag from a public art installation, as reported by The New York Post.

The moment, captured by onlookers, shows a man climbing a fence positioned near a piece titled “Latina Forever,” an installation that featured flags from countries around the world. According to witnesses, the individual reached toward the display in an apparent attempt to remove the Israeli flag before losing his balance.

Video of the scene shows the man slipping and falling back to the ground while two other people stood nearby watching. The extent of any injuries was not immediately reported.

The “Latina Forever” installation had become a popular photo location during the festival, with attendees taking pictures in front of the artwork, which displayed multiple international flags. The incident occurred as festivalgoers moved through the area during the event’s second weekend.

The episode came amid broader controversy surrounding performances at the festival. During their set, The Strokes played a video montage that included political messaging.

The visuals criticized U.S. foreign policy actions and referenced alleged CIA-backed regime changes as well as U.S.-Israel involvement in conflicts in Gaza and Iran.

The footage accompanied the band’s performance of their song “Oblivius” and included references to historical events in countries such as Chile and the Congo, alongside more recent geopolitical developments.

The inclusion of the video drew reactions from attendees and online viewers, adding to the ongoing debate about political messaging at large entertainment events.

Elsewhere during the festival, Karol G brought out Becky G as a surprise guest during her performance. Becky G addressed the crowd with remarks supporting immigrants before technical issues interrupted the set shortly afterward.

The second weekend of Coachella has seen a mix of performances and moments that have generated discussion beyond the music itself. Organizers have not publicly commented on the incident involving the activist or the broader reactions to the performances.

Festivalgoers continued to attend events across the venue as scheduled following the incident. Security measures and access around installations remained in place as the event proceeded.
