Democrats are once again pointing fingers at President Donald Trump, this time over a nasty lettuce recall linked to Mexico that has left hundreds of Americans with intestinal issues.

Federal officials confirmed that a parasite called cyclospora hitchhiked into American kitchens through shredded iceberg lettuce imported from central Mexico.

Yet some Democrats insist that Trump somehow caused it.

The voluntary recall issued by Taylor Farms in California affects lettuce distributed to twenty seven states.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported at least one thousand six hundred confirmed cases of cyclospora infections traced directly to Mexico.

While no deaths have been reported, the outbreak has certainly made life miserable for those affected.

But rather than focus on real solutions, some Democrats went for their favorite fallback excuse, Trump.

Senator Patty Murray of Washington posted a video claiming this was the “worst outbreak in U.S. history” and that the president had taken a “wrecking ball” to public health systems.

That accusation quickly unraveled since the contamination came from south of the border, not from anything inside the Trump administration.

Facts did not stop the senator from making a viral moment out of false blame.

Abdul El-Sayed, a left wing Senate candidate from Michigan, decided to pile on.

He suggested that the “abnormally crappy couple of months” his state endured, including both the lettuce outbreak and smoky skies from Canadian wildfires, were somehow caused by Trump and his agencies.

According to him, the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration under Trump were to blame for the lettuce contamination, while oil companies caused the fires through so called global warming.

To no one’s surprise, he provided no evidence supporting any of it.

WATCH:

The CDC’s findings make it clear the contamination originated with Taylor Farms de Mexico in Guanajuato.

The company has since recalled twenty five salad and lettuce products from that source.

Taylor Farms also stopped purchasing from the tainted fields, pulled the products from store shelves, and is working with U.S. officials to prevent any further problems.

Their statement assured consumers that the company has “stopped receiving product from the implicated lot” and that the contaminated lettuce is being removed.

Cyclospora is a parasite that spreads when fresh produce is washed with water contaminated by human waste.

It thrives in warm, wet climates, which is why outbreaks are more common in imported foods from certain regions.

The CDC said over thirty states have seen cases this year, with Michigan suffering the highest number.

Hospitalizations are rare and typically linked to dehydration from severe diarrhea.

While the recall is serious, it is hardly a national crisis on the scale Democrats want to paint it.

American companies responded quickly.

The problem was traced within weeks.

Federal and state agencies worked together without partisan drama.

Yet the Democrat talking points practically wrote themselves. If it hurts the stomach, it must be Trump’s fault.

This political blame game shows how reflexive the left’s messaging has become.

Any public health concern, supply chain hiccup, or weather problem gets spun into another attack on conservatives.

They refuse to accept responsibility when globalist trade policies or open border practices lead to compromised food safety.

Imported produce often bypasses the same rigorous inspections applied to domestically grown crops, and that is a problem created by decades of bipartisan negligence, not temporary administrative policy.

Instead of vilifying Republicans, Democrats might ask why our grocery stores rely so heavily on foreign suppliers.

Heavy import dependence makes consumers vulnerable to international sanitation failures.

The same crowd that chants about climate change and public health also cheers for open trade deals that flood the market with cheaper produce from places with lax standards.

When that system backfires, their instinct is to yell “Trump” rather than rethink their globalist agenda.

Every time the left turns a genuine health issue into a partisan cudgel, they dilute the seriousness of the real problem.

Americans do not need political scapegoating.

They need clear labeling, safe food, and honest reporting about where their groceries come from.

Blaming Republicans for lettuce grown in Mexico helps no one. It only proves how far partisan politics has infected common sense.

If the current outbreak teaches anything, it is that America must restore domestic agriculture and secure its food supply chain.

Democrats screaming about Trump will not stop parasites from crossing borders. Strong local production, rigorous inspections, and accountability for foreign growers will.

That is something a president who actually believes in putting America first would understand.

Until then, consumers are being urged to toss out any recalled Taylor Farms products and call the hotline if they have questions.

Hopefully Democrats can find the courage to toss out their obsession with blaming Trump right along with the bad lettuce.
