Comey was terrible at his job and was engaged in a massive conspiracy to slander and perhaps imprison the president, pushing conspiracy theories he knew to be false, leaking false information to the media through intermediaries, including information that was classified, and hence he broke the law.

Welcome to the “Intelligence Community” in the United States of America, where technocrats and political cronies believe they exercise the real power, not elected officials or the voters.
It wasn’t just a matter of timing that this investigation was opened. It was opened precisely because the president exercised his legal powers in a way that displeased the FBI officials. There is no question about the connection between the two events, and no justification beyond the fact that they didn’t like what they did.
The FBI memos, declassified Monday by the White House, show the probe, code-named Oxferd Comma, was launched immediately after Mr. Comey’s firing on May 9, 2017, and was based on an allegation that previously released documents show FBI agents largely debunked.
“The FBI is opening a full investigation based on an articulable factual basis that reasonably indicates that President Donald J. Trump may be or has been, wittingly or unwittingly, involved in activities for or on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation which may constitute violations of federal criminal law or threats to the national security of the United States,” the electronic communication opening the probe on May 16, 2017, stated.
“The goal of the investigation is to determine if President Trump is or was directed by, controlled by, and/or coordinated activities with, the Russian Federation in a manner constituting a threat to the national security of the United States and/or a violation of federal criminal statutes,” it added. “In addition, this investigation will also seek to determine whether President Trump and others yet to be named obstructed and/or conspiracy to obstruct any associated FBI investigation.”
The memo, which was authored by the FBI’s counterintelligence division and approved by then-FBI General Counsel James Baker and then-Assistant Director for Counterintelligence William Priestap, discussed apprehensions about Russian influence and obstruction, including Mr. Comey’s termination, partly because of the reasons Mr. Trump gave for it.
“This alternative explanation can be reasonably read to imply that the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation was a factor in President Trump’s decision to terminate Comey,” the memo said.
The memo’s release comes over one year after Mr. Trump signed an executive order declassifying all FBI files on Crossfire Hurricane, the government’s secret probe that searched fruitlessly for evidence that he colluded with the Russians to win the White House in 2016.
They already KNEW Trump wasn’t a Russian agent, and knew that the Steele Dossier, which they had shopped to the media as genuine, was filled with false information.

Democrats and the media keep mouthing the nostrum that “nobody is above the law,” by which they actually mean that the permanent bureaucracy is the law. FBI investigators already KNEW by January 2017 there were “serious questions about the reliability of the Steele (dossier) reporting…” according to DOJ watchdog Michael Horowitz.
The flawed Steele dossier underpinned the Russia collusion allegations.
The newly declassified 2017 FBI record @WhiteHouse also stands out because it cites “multiple open source reports” as justification.
One of the most concerning elements of the FBI Russia collusion probes was “circular reporting” Here’s how it works:
FBI officials (or their proxies) would leak information to a reporter, who would then publish the leak.
The same FBI officials would then cite the resulting media story to justify further investigative actions — including surveillance warrants for a former Trump campaign aide.
Internal DOJ investigations would conclude Comey was fired for a number of reasons, including his mishandling of the Clinton case which violated “long-standing department practice and protocol.”

Don’t expect Pravda to give this news any attention, because it is yet another piece of evidence that the Deep State (and the Democrats) have subverted the Constitutional order to subordinate the will of the electorate to their own goals. Trump was and is the biggest danger they have ever faced, and they have deployed every tool at their disposal to destroy them.

Trump and the Republicans are trying to rein in the Deep State, and the Democrats and Pravda are doing everything in their power to turn this exercise in Constitutional hygiene into “retaliatory lawfare,” which is the exact opposite of the truth.
Think about how the media has portrayed the Fauci diary and the Rand Paul hearings: they gloss over the fact that Fauci lied about everything and likely funded the creation of the virus; instead, they argue that this is all about revenge and that the Republicans are persecuting a hero. We’ve even heard that this is “elder abuse,” if you can believe that.

The same people who said Joe Biden was sharp as a tack, ready for four more years, and reads Homer in Greek while doing handstands think that Anthony Fauci is too doddering to face the Senate.

No doubt, if this gets covered at all (calling Bari Weiss!), it will be as another example of the FBI doing its duty to protect America against a rogue president who likely sold out the country to Russia.
Will any of these people get prosecuted? Would it matter, given that they would likely be judged by bureaucrats in D.C.on the jury? In other words, by members of the Deep State?
I don’t know. But Trump should try it anyway. Make them spend their pensions on lawyers, at least.
