Federal Probe Shadows Singham as Wife Marches With Communist Network He Bankrolled [WATCH]

A network funded by Shanghai-based communist technology tycoon Neville Roy Singham staged a coordinated protest against Israel through Midtown Manhattan after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations.

Fox News Digital tracked the Thursday operation from setup through breakdown.

Organizers deployed field marshals, prepared signs, banners, megaphones, drums, portable sound equipment, rolling wagons and a stage during the four-hour demonstration.

Personnel from the People’s Forum connected with fellow activists at the New York Public Library before marching toward the United Nations.

At the center was Jodie Evans, Singham’s wife, a longtime People’s Forum leader and cofounder of CodePink.

The Justice Department’s U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has opened a grand jury investigation into alleged money laundering, bank fraud and wire fraud involving Singham and his network.

Neither Singham nor the organizations he has funded have been charged with crimes as of yet.

During the march, self-described “comrades” from the Revolutionary Communists of America chanted, “Long live the intifada,” as Evans walked alongside activists from organizations within the Singham network.

Actress Susan Sarandon was arrested after demonstrators blocked First Avenue during a sit-in against Israel.

CodePink cofounder Medea Benjamin and actress Cynthia Nixon also participated, along with activists from Jewish Voice for Peace.

The protest showcased an extensive organizing structure involving assigned marshals, nonprofit staff, prepared signs, coordinated slogans, and a media team producing online content.

Although not every participating organization was directly funded by Singham, groups with overlapping leadership, funding, and messaging operated together throughout the event.

The operation reflected the vast financial network behind several major participants.

After marrying Evans in 2017 and selling ThoughtWorks, the technology company he founded, Singham directed $285 million to nonprofit and media organizations, according to a Fox News Digital investigation.

The People’s Forum received $22.4 million from Singham, while CodePink received $1.33 million.

BreakThrough BT Media Inc., which operates BreakThrough News, received $1.098 million, according to tax filings cited in the report.

People’s Forum executive director Manolo De Los Santos arrived near signs transported to the library steps.

Activists distributed signs calling for sanctions against Israel and declaring, “WAR CRIMINALS NOT WELCOME” and “NEW YORK REJECTS ZIONISM,” with branding from the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

Layan Fuleihan, the People’s Forum education director, and Palestinian Youth Movement organizer Taher Dahleh were also present.

Nonprofit filings showed Fuleihan received $78,649, while People’s Forum organizing director David Chung earned $76,249.

Dahleh directed demonstrators and helped coordinate the march.

He has regularly hosted Monday night volunteer meetings at the People’s Forum for the “Shut It Down For Palestine” campaign, according to the report.

Evans marched with CodePink activists behind a banner reading “STOP ARMING ISRAEL” and carried a poster depicting Netanyahu as “WANTED” for “GENOCIDE.”

She wore an oversized fuchsia hat, pink peace sign earrings, dark glasses, a pink and white keffiyeh and a shirt supporting Palestinian human rights.

Asked about her husband’s funding of nonprofits leading the protests, Evans responded, “He’s not been in the United States for six-and-a-half years.”

Asked about his view of the demonstrations, she said, “He supports stopping a genocide, you bet.”

Evans rejected allegations from House Foreign Affairs Committee lawmakers that the network serves as a “Trojan horse” for the Chinese Communist Party.

“We’re not doing anything wrong. So it’s a lot of ‘alleging,’ and we’re very honest about what we do: protesting every day,” she said.

BreakThrough News editor Zoe Alexandra conducted interviews as the march proceeded, while the outlet later posted a branded video presenting the turnout as numbering in the thousands.

People’s Forum and CodePink accounts also published footage promoting the demonstration as a large expression of public anger.

The march eventually moved to Times Square before organizers wheeled signs, sound equipment and other materials back to the People’s Forum headquarters.

De Los Santos defended the operation, asking, “We organize protests. What is wrong or illegal about that?” before adding, “Yeah, I am a communist.”
