A Florida pastor known for offering marriage guidance has been arrested on a bigamy charge after authorities say he married multiple women while still legally wed, as reported by Fox News.
Leslie Williams, 62, was taken into custody on Wednesday at The Villages, a large retirement community in Florida, on an outstanding warrant issued out of Georgia.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Williams is being held without bond due to his status as an out-of-state fugitive, with legal holds tied to Rockdale County, Georgia.
“Florida marriage records were obtained and confirmed that Leslie Williams was still lawfully married at the time of the subsequent marriage,” the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital.

“Based on these records, a warrant was obtained for Leslie Williams for the charge of bigamy.”
Authorities said concerns were first raised after a complainant reported the alleged bigamy to the Haines City Police Department in Florida. The case was later transferred to Georgia after records showed that Williams’ previous marriage had been certified in Rockdale County.
Williams, who operates Leslie Williams Ministries within The Villages, had presented himself publicly as married for several years. According to his Facebook activity, he indicated he had been married, dating back to at least 2018. In December, however, he posted an announcement revealing a new marriage to a woman identified as Cindi.
“Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful and talented wife, Mrs. Williams!” he wrote in the post, which included a photo of the woman as his updated cover image.

The announcement drew questions from some acquaintances. “Wow, I thought you were already married. Congratulations!!” one commenter wrote.
When another individual asked if the post was legitimate, Williams replied, “Yes, preacher!!!! THE HAPPIEST MAN on earth!!”
Subsequent activity on Williams’ social media account indicated a shift in his relationship status in the months that followed. The cover photo featuring the woman was removed roughly two months later and replaced with an image of a car. His relationship status was also changed from “married” to “single.”
Documents show that the warrant for Williams’ arrest was issued on April 3 by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams is currently being held for extradition at the Sumter County Detention Center in accordance with the warrant.
The arrest comes years after Williams published a book in 2017 titled “Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper,” which focused on strengthening marriages through biblical commitments.
“In a time where there is a high divorce rate in the church, LHLT shows men the depth of Christ’s love for His bride as an example for every man to love his bride with the same strength, sacrifice and commitment,” a promotional cover for the book stated.
Williams also described himself as “an apologist and teacher of the word of God with relevant and timely messages for the body of Christ,” according to information tied to the book.
