Fox News host Jesse Watters criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s leadership style and responded to claims that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are “more dangerous” than President Donald Trump.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom speaks to media Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Sequoia National Park before signing a $15 billion climate package into law that will help bolster the state’s response to climate change. Drought Wild Fire Prevention

Watters began by questioning Newsom’s authority and accountability.

“Is Gavin, the princess of California, or the governor, right? Does he have real power? Or does he wear a little crown and have a wand and do ribbon cutting ceremonies and drink tea?” Watters said.

He accused Newsom of distancing himself from the state’s problems while taking credit for its achievements.

“This guy, when everything bad happens in California? Oh, fires, oh, it’s Karen’s problem. I just got here, or men are playing women’s sports in California. I never knew about that. I’m against it for now, like this,” Watters said.

He added, “He’s like, Oh, yeah, this is the parole board. Dude. You cannot when good stuff happens, say, California, sixth largest economy in the world, that’s all me. And then when everything falls apart, you’re like, oh, it’s the Deputy District Attorney. I’m just finding out about it.”

Watters also addressed comments suggesting that Vance and Rubio pose a greater threat than Trump.

“Now, the other thing rule for men. Dana, men cannot say another man is scary. Okay, you can’t say the word scary as a man, are you scared? Gavin, it’s scary for you. Come on,” Watters said.

He described what he views as a political strategy aimed at Trump’s allies.

“And he’s just the next, more dangerous and the next, like Greg said, this is the line of attack, though. He said about Rubio too. Rubio and Vance are scarier than Trump, more dangerous than Trump, and they’re phonies,” Watters said.

Watters suggested critics would focus on the fact that both men once criticized Trump but now serve in his administration.

“That’s what you’re going to see because that they criticize Donald Trump, and now they’re in his cabinet, and that’s going to be their what they’ll try to do, and I don’t know if it’s going to work. We’ll see how it shakes out,” Watters said.
