House Judiciary Republicans confirmed Wednesday night that Southern Poverty Law Center CEO Bryan Fair is expected to testify before the committee next month as lawmakers examine allegations involving the organization’s activities, funding, and possible coordination with the Biden-Harris Administration, as reported by Townhall.

The hearing is scheduled for June 9 at 10 a.m. Eastern.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan invited Fair to appear before the panel and also subpoenaed the SPLC for documents related to its alleged coordination with the Biden-Harris Administration and alleged funding of extremists.

The committee’s move follows increased scrutiny of the SPLC, an organization that has long described itself as a watchdog tracking extremist activity.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

The SPLC has maintained a controversial “Hate Map” that has labeled various organizations, including conservative and religious groups, as hate groups.

According to the report, House Judiciary Republicans are seeking answers from Fair regarding allegations that the SPLC funded elements of extremist and racist groups.

The committee is also seeking records tied to allegations that the organization coordinated with the Biden-Harris Administration.

The SPLC has been a major presence in national political and legal debates for decades, frequently issuing public designations and reports on organizations it labels as extremist.

Those designations have drawn criticism from conservatives who argue the group has targeted mainstream conservative and faith-based organizations.

Republicans on the committee are now focusing on whether the SPLC played a role in supporting or enabling extremist elements while presenting itself publicly as a watchdog against extremism.

The report states that a recent federal indictment returned by a grand jury suggests the organization was allegedly involved in manufacturing the same kind of extremism it claimed to be fighting.

The subpoena from Jordan seeks documents that could shed light on the organization’s communications, funding practices, and relationship with the Biden-Harris Administration.

Fair’s upcoming appearance will give members of the House Judiciary Committee an opportunity to question the SPLC’s leadership directly.

The hearing is expected to focus on both the organization’s internal practices and its influence in federal policy discussions.

Republicans have increasingly raised questions about the role outside advocacy groups played during the Biden-Harris Administration, particularly groups that labeled conservative organizations or religious groups as extremist.

Fair’s testimony is scheduled as House Republicans continue to examine whether outside organizations worked with federal officials in ways that affected conservative groups, religious groups, or political opponents.

The subpoena and hearing mark a new stage in congressional scrutiny of the SPLC, with the Judiciary Committee seeking documents and public testimony from the organization’s top executive.
