Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci’s public messaging on COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy after discussing what she described as an internal text message exchange involving Fauci, then-Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky and then-Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

During the segment, Earhardt contrasted Fauci’s reported private discussion about a theoretical concern involving pregnancy with his subsequent public recommendation encouraging vaccination for pregnant women and women planning to become pregnant.

The discussion included a clip of Fauci stating:

“It is extremely important for pregnant women and women planning to get pregnant to get vaccinated.”

Earhardt said the reported text exchange painted a different picture from Fauci’s later public remarks.

“So all three of them are on this text. He’s saying, ‘I’m worried that it could cause miscarriage in the first trimester.’ And she writes back, especially after dose two.”

According to Earhardt, the timeline between the reported text exchange and Fauci’s public comments raised questions she believes deserve further scrutiny.

“Then a month later was that soundbite that you just heard when he’s saying, ‘No red flags. Women can get pregnant. Women planning to get pregnant, they need to get vaccinated.'”

Earhardt argued that the reported discrepancy prompted questions about why the other public health officials involved did not publicly address what she characterized as differing messages.

“So he’s saying one thing in the text to these other other experts. Why didn’t any of those other two experts speak out? Why didn’t the CDC director or the Surgeon General say, Dr. Fauci, you told us something different in our text messages a month ago?”

She continued by asking whether the public received complete information during the vaccine rollout.

“Are we lying to the American people?”

Earhardt then posed a series of hypothetical questions about how women might view the reported exchange.

“What if a woman is pregnant right now, and she takes that second dose, and she has a miscarriage. Is that our fault? Because we didn’t tell the public the truth.”

She also questioned whether women who experienced miscarriages during 2021 could revisit those experiences in light of the reported communications.

“What if you had a miscarriage in 2021? Do you now? Are you like wondering now? Was it because of the vaccine? Dr. Fauci told me I was fine to take it.”

Earhardt said she believes the reported text exchange could have significant legal implications if future evidence were to establish a connection between vaccination and miscarriages.

“This is going to open a whole new can of worms. People are going to sue because they’re going to be so upset about this, they’ve lost their children.”

She concluded by emphasizing that her final question depended on whether such a causal relationship were ultimately proven.

“How many children are? If this is true, if the vaccine did cause miscarriages, how many children are in heaven because of that misinformation?”

Throughout the segment, Earhardt argued that the reported text messages warrant additional public examination because she believes they raise questions about how federal health officials communicated with the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her comments focused on what she described as differences between Fauci’s reported private discussion and his subsequent public recommendations regarding COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women.

Fauci’s public statement shown during the segment remained consistent with the federal guidance issued during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, while Earhardt argued that the reported internal discussion should be examined alongside those public recommendations.
