Former Special Counsel Jack Smith appeared Saturday at a Maryland music festival wearing a shirt opposing President Donald Trump. Photos of Smith at the event were subsequently shared online, putting his political fashion choice on public display.
The shirt read, “Bruce Springsteen & E Street Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour No Kings.” Its message linked Smith to the political branding surrounding Springsteen, a longtime opponent of Trump and his supporters.
Just the News reported Sunday that Springsteen performed at the event, which was called “Power to the People Fest.” The gathering took place at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
Springsteen was joined by other performers, including Tom Morello and Joan Baez. A photo caption identified all three musicians as appearing onstage during the show’s finale on October 3, 2026.

Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl also supplied Smith with a prominent moment during the festival. Grohl dedicated his band’s song “My Hero” to “my new friend Jack,” referring to the Former Special Counsel.
The dedication offered Smith an enthusiastic welcome from the stage while he attended a festival featuring some of the entertainment world’s most vocal political figures. Smith’s “No Kings” shirt made his own position difficult to miss.

Another photo showed Smith standing with a man wearing a Scottish kilt. That man also wore a shirt that appeared to feature a line from the movie character Indiana Jones: “Nazis… I hate these guys.”

The festival appearance followed Smith’s testimony Tuesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Smith was called to testify about potential abuses of authority and the targeting of Republicans during his investigations.
Look at Jack Smith’s list. There is one thing that is consistent: every name on it is a Republican.
Is it a crime to be a Republican?
Is it a crime to write a check to Republicans?
No.
Jack Smith used his investigation as an excuse to engage in a massive fishing expedition to target Republicans.

Those investigations sought to imprison Trump during the Biden administration. The committee testimony therefore placed Smith’s conduct and the scope of his work back under congressional examination before his festival appearance.
Smith’s office bent its own purchasing rules to obtain forensic video software. The purchase reportedly occurred days before Trump was indicted in the case concerning the 2020 election.
Journalist Catherine Herridge separately reported that information connected to thousands of Americans who donated to the Republican Party was swept into the Smith investigations. Her reporting described investigations extending beyond what many Americans may have understood about their reach.
Herridge said she believed the “big takeaway is that the investigations by Jack Smith, whether it was the special counsel investigation or these precursor investigations, were much broader and more sweeping than I think most Americans realize.”
According to Herridge, financial information belonging to about 5,000 Americans who made small political donations to the Republican Party was gathered during the investigation. She described donations of $5, $10, and even $1.
CATHERINE HERRIDGE: About 5,000 Americans who donated to the Republican Party had their financial information swept up in the Jack Smith investigations. That includes names, addresses, phone numbers, bank account and routing numbers.

The gathered information included names, addresses, phone numbers, bank account numbers, and routing numbers, Herridge said. She added that Senator Lee viewed the collection as a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment and an unlawful search and seizure affecting average Americans and their right to donate to a political party.
The “No Kings” political activity has also drawn support from familiar corners of the left. Democrat donors and anti-Israel groups reportedly funded the protests, with left-wing billionaire George Soros identified as one of the backers.
Breitbart News reported in March that leftist celebrities participated in or promoted “No Kings” protests around the country. Smith’s appearance in the Springsteen-inspired shirt, capped by Grohl’s “My Hero” dedication, added another celebrity-friendly scene to that political campaign.
