WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Jasmine Crockett’s campaign merchandise website reportedly advertised political consulting, government relations, and lobbying services while she served in Congress.
  • The disputed listing disappeared after Zeteo contacted Crockett’s office.
  • Crockett’s spokesperson said she did not build the website or direct anyone to add the consulting button.
  • Experts told Zeteo that the offerings raised congressional ethics questions and concerns about potential legal violations.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing uncomfortable questions after her campaign financed merchandise website advertised lobbying and political consulting services while the Texas Democrat remained a member of Congress, according to a report from Zeteo.

The eyebrow-raising listing did not stay online for long once questions started flying. Zeteo reported that the offering disappeared after the outlet contacted Crockett’s office about what visitors could find on the website.

Crockett’s spokesperson denied that the congresswoman had ordered anyone to place the listing on the site. Her office maintained that the website was intended to sell campaign merchandise, not to advertise an array of political services.

Still, experts who spoke with Zeteo said the offerings raised questions involving congressional ethics and possible legal violations. That puts the website’s curious menu in a far more serious category than an ordinary online merchandising mistake.

The website promoted Crockett’s merchandise line, called “The Clapback Collection.” Near the bottom of the site, visitors could find a button reading “Political Consultant- Book Now,” according to the report.

That button reportedly led users beyond shirts or other political merchandise. Clicking it produced a selection of services that included campaign strategy and management, government relations, and lobbying.

The menu did not stop there. It also offered communications and public relations services, digital and social media work, and political risk management, according to Zeteo’s account of the website.

Those options created an obvious contrast with the explanation provided by Crockett’s office. Her spokesperson insisted that selling campaign merchandise was the website’s purpose and said Crockett neither built the site nor ordered the disputed button to be added.

“This website is and has always been focused on selling campaign merchandise,” a Crockett spokesperson told Zeteo. The statement directly framed the website as a merchandise operation despite the political consulting and lobbying options reportedly available through it.

“The Congresswoman has only advertised it for merchandise and did not build it,” the spokesperson continued. That response placed distance between Crockett and the website’s construction while emphasizing how she had personally promoted it.

The spokesperson then issued an even more specific denial concerning the listing that sparked the questions. “She never directed anyone to add the button you are inquiring about.”

According to Zeteo, the solicitation appeared by May. That timing was roughly two months after Crockett lost her Senate bid in March, placing the listing on the website while she was still serving in Congress.

The listing’s removal followed Zeteo’s contact with Crockett’s office, but the report did not identify who placed the button on the website. Crockett’s spokesperson likewise did not say who was responsible, instead stressing that the congresswoman had not directed anyone to add it.

The website’s name also supplied a ready-made target for critics. A merchandise line branded around political clapbacks became the center of a report involving congressional ethics questions, possible legal violations, and a vanished lobbying solicitation.

Progressive commentator Ryan Grim responded to the report with a pointed jab on X. “Not waiting until you leave Congress to start lobbying is impressive,” Grim wrote.

The remark captured the awkward optics described in the report without resolving who was behind the listing. Crockett’s office denied her involvement in adding the button, while Zeteo reported that the button connected visitors with lobbying and other political services.

What remains clear from the report is that a website associated with Crockett’s campaign merchandise offered far more than merchandise. The disputed options ranged from campaign management and public relations to government relations, lobbying, social media work, and political risk management.

Crockett’s office has drawn a firm line between the congresswoman and the website feature, saying she did not build the site and never directed anyone to add the button. But after the listing disappeared following media questions, the boneheaded episode left the Texas Democrat with an explanation to defend and ethics questions hanging over her operation.
