Javier Milei Eviscerates ‘Useless’ UN and Its ‘Fatally Arrogant Parasites’ to Their Faces [WATCH]

Argentine President Javier Milei delivered a blistering rebuke to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, branding the international body “useless” and accusing it of sustaining “a caste of fatally arrogant parasites masquerading as well-intentioned bureaucrats.”

Speaking during the 81st United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 23, 2026, Milei initially praised the principles behind the institution.

He described its founding mission of peacefully resolving conflict while advancing universal freedom and dignity as “noble words.”

The pleasantries did not last. Milei declared that the organization had betrayed the very ideals it was created to defend, telling the assembly, “today, regrettably, it is time to acknowledge that, in practice, that sacred covenant has been broken.”

“That’s to say, it has become a useless organization whose only purpose is to sustain a caste of fatally arrogant parasites masquerading as well-intentioned bureaucrats,” Milei charged.

The libertarian president pointed to restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with what he called the “gender agenda, environmental extremism and unchecked immigration.”

He argued that bodies operating under the U.N. umbrella put themselves ahead of scientific evidence and the sovereignty of individual nations.

“During the pandemic, bodies under the auspices of this house put themselves before scientific evidence and the sovereignty of nations and promoted forced lockdown policies throughout the world,” Milei said.

He sharply rejected the idea that the pandemic response amounted merely to mistaken public health policy.

Instead, he described it as a worldwide test of social control that stripped people of fundamental rights while hiding behind the authority of science.

“Where some allege a public health policy error, we see a global experiment in social control disguised as science. And when a state wearing public health blinkers deprives its population of the right to work, to receive an education and to bid farewell to their dead, this results in millions of avoidable deaths; there is a word for it, genocide.”

Milei accused the U.N. of refusing to reconsider its approach after failures.

“Every time [the U.N.] failed, rather than reviewing the model or apologizing, they doubled down,” he said.

The Argentine leader also condemned the institution’s record on collective security and human rights.

He said those entrusted with protecting both had failed, allowing chaos, violence and international terrorism to flourish instead.

“The alleged defenders of human rights have sheltered bloodthirsty dictatorships and regimes that stone women in the streets; they have systematically voted against Israel while remaining silent in the face of Islamic terrorism and the genocide of Christians in Africa,” Milei said.

Milei, described as a radical reformer, budget slasher and ally of President Donald Trump, also turned to Argentina’s territorial grievances.

He accused the U.N. of looking away from the dispute involving the Malvinas, also known as the Falkland Islands, as well as South Georgia Islands, South Sandwich Islands and surrounding maritime areas.

He described those islands as proof of the divide between the declarations made by international institutions and the realities they claim to address.

“There’s no shortage of words or resolutions; what is lacking is consequences,” Milei asserted.

“Because an institution that cannot ensure that its words carry weight in the real world loses the most important thing of all, its authority,” he continued.

Beyond the island dispute, Milei accused the U.N. of constructing a “bureaucratic leviathan” focused on dictating how people and nations should live.

He described the result as a bizarre blend of anarchy and tyranny, with weakness toward dictatorships and terrorist organizations but intrusive control over rule-abiding liberal democracies.

“This amounts to a curious mixture of anarchy and tyranny, impotence in the face of those who break the most basic rules, such as bloodthirsty dictatorships and terrorist organizations coupled with Orwellian control and impositions on liberal democracies that abide by the rules.”

Milei closed that portion of his argument by invoking free market economist and philosopher Ludwig von Mises.

“I would remind them of what Mises said, ‘Good people do not think about controlling the lives of their fellow human beings.’”
