Jill Biden Spokesman Goes Scorched Earth On Biden’s Worst Propagandist

Former First Lady Jill Biden’s old spokesperson Michael LaRosa laced into former Biden White House Senior Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates in a tweet on Sunday, saying Bates had “lost all credibility.”

LaRosa, who has been outspoken about his time in the Biden-Harris White House, responded to a tweet from Bates trying to contrast New York Attorney General Letitia James and Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency Bill Pulte with reporting from The New York Times (NYT) and The Associated Press. The former spokesperson for Jill Biden called Bates out for now highlighting the reporting from the outlets after criticizing them while in office. “Remember when this guy SMEARED and SAVAGED the journalists, editors, and the reportering of NYT, the AP, and the WSJ for four years, even a little less than a year ago?!” LaRosa wrote.

“These are the type of Dem press flacks from the Biden era who lost all credibility with the public and the media,” he continued.

LaRosa then alleged that Bates and other Democrats “lied, bullied, gaslit and smeared” during the Biden White House years.

“Any Democrat who considers hiring them in the future need to recall the damage they did to our party and the years that these robotic wind-up toy mouth machines and keyboard warriors lied, bullied, gaslit, and smeared their way for FOUR years in the Biden White House,” LaRose continued. “Democrats and journalists should never forget why we are where we are today……Because of the conventional tone-deaf talking-point robot and smear machines like him.”

“We can’t ONLY embrace journalism, transparency, and the free press when they expose the other team. That’s not how it works,” he finished.

Bates was a key defender of former President Joe Biden and his fitness towards the end of his term. Two days before the former president dropped out of the presidential election, Bates denied stories that the Biden family and advisors were reportedly discussing the matter.

Bates attacked the NYT in the weeks before Biden dropped out of the race, after they published a piece reporting that the former president had told an “ally” he was weighing whether to stay in the race.

The White House and Bates rushed to do damage control in June while The Wall Street Journal carried out multiple interviews with lawmakers on Biden’s fitness for the role. The outlet reported in June that for several months it had carried out over 45 interviews with both Democratic and Republican lawmakers, along with administration officials, on the president’s mental and physical health.

The WSJ wrote that the White House “kept close tabs” on their reporting and some Democrats told the White House about their interviews with the outlet.

“We thought it was important that all perspectives be represented,” Bates told the WSJ at the time, saying it was intended to correct “false and politically motivated claims.”

Bates later attacked the reporting in a statement to the Caller.

“Literally, the sole on-record critic in the entire story is Kevin McCarthy, whose interview contradicts his earlier public and private statements about finding the President sharp in their private meetings,” Bates said. “What’s more, Democratic members of Congress who refuted Republicans’ lies on the record were left out of the article. So was Governor Roy Cooper.”
