Three Deceptions Exposed in One Week [WATCH]

Commentator Britt Hughes criticized several national and local news reports this week, arguing that media outlets mischaracterized incidents involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Three times the leftist media lied to you this week,” Hughes said.

Hughes first referenced a report by NBC concerning a Massachusetts woman who was seeking the release of her husband from ICE detention.

“What NBC reported, Massachusetts woman begging for her husband to be released from ICE detention center,” Hughes said.

He then provided his version of the underlying circumstances.

“What actually happened? Seamus Culleton abandoned his two children in Ireland and came to the United States on a tourist visa in 2009 his visa expired and he never went back, probably because he’s facing drug charges back in his home country,” Hughes said.

“So ICE picked him up five months ago and is in the process of deporting him, but we’re supposed to feel real bad about it, because he’s married now and owns a plastering company in Boston.”

Hughes next addressed coverage by CBS Austin regarding a protest involving ICE.

“What CBS Austin reported, Greenlee Martinez, 17, says she was threatened with a taser during an ICE walkout protest in Round Rock,” Hughes said.

He described the encounter differently.

“What actually happened? Greenlee Martinez got up in a cop’s face and screamed while the officer was trying to arrest another protester,” Hughes said. “She continued harassing the cops in a threatening manner and was told to back off or she’d get the business end of a taser. You know, as one does when harassing a cop and obstructing an arrest.”

Hughes then turned to another segment involving ICE activity near a school bus stop.

“What CBS reported,” Hughes said.

In the referenced broadcast, Tony Dokoupil stated, “Kids running scared from a school bus stop as ICE operates nearby.”

A narrator in the segment added, “Fourth and fifth graders were waiting at their bus stop when ICE agents sparked fear and confusion.”

Hughes offered additional details about the circumstances surrounding that incident.

“What actually happened ICE was attempting to arrest Hugo Coelho, an illegal alien from Honduras who’s been in the US for 21 years,” Hughes said.

“His criminal history includes assault, strangulation, aggravated assault and theft.”

Hughes said the situation escalated after the suspect did not comply.

“He refused to pull over for ICE agents got caught in traffic and fled his vehicle on foot, which is what started all of the chaos,” Hughes said.

“ICE gave up their pursuit without actually catching Coelho, so he’s still at large.”

Hughes concluded his remarks with a direct message to viewers.

“You are being lied to, deliberately, repeatedly, shamelessly. Do you get it now?” she said.
