I don’t know how many times I’m going to have to keep writing this same headline but every day or two there are more significant strikes by Ukraine which take out major facilities in Russia. Almost always there is plenty of video of the attacks themselves and the outcome. This weekend was no exception.

As I’ve described before, the flow of gasoline to Crimea has largely been cut off which means the only gas getting in right now is coming by trucks. And those trucks make perfect targets for drones.

🔥Today, a Russian convoy of fuel tankers, escorted by mobile fire groups, was tracked and struck by Birds of Magyar unit while travelling along the land logistics corridor to occupied Crimea. https://t.co/hkgl0IRQCj pic.twitter.com/9lyzHiCPmj

Obviously if only one tanker out of every three makes it through, you’re going to continue to be really short on gas and you’re also going to run out of trucks eventually.

But that was relatively minor compared to the big strikes this weekend, including the one on the Saratov oil refinery. This site has been attacked many times.

The strike on the Saratov Oil Refinery sparked a large fire, according to the independent Russian outlet Astra, which noted this was at least the 15th attack on the facility since the start of the full-scale war…

The Saratov facility, one of Russia’s oldest refineries, has an annual processing capacity of 4.8 million tons. A previous drone strike on July 8 halted operations at the site after hitting the primary CDU-6 refining unit, which processed 20,000 metric tons per day.

The fire at the refinery was indeed massive.

The other major strike was against a Wildberries hub in the Vladimir region east of Moscow.

The fire at this location took off and really engulfed everything.

They won’t be doing any shipping from this location anytime soon.

Firefighters were struggling to put out the blaze.

More than 200 firefighters were battling a fire at a warehouse run by Russian online retailer Wildberries east ‌of Moscow following a Ukrainian drone attack on Monday, as Kyiv’s campaign against the e-commerce giant intensified.

Alexander Avdeyev, the regional governor of Vladimir, said 203 firefighters and 67 pieces of equipment had been deployed to tackle Monday’s blaze, which measured 100,000 square metres (1.07 million square feet), equivalent to about 14 soccer fields…

The company’s founder and CEO, Tatyana Kim, has called the Ukrainian attacks – which have targeted more than a dozen Wildberries sites since July 18 – “acts of terrorism”.

Russia has been firing missiles at apartment buildings full of civilians for years and no one in Russia ever had a problem with it. But burn down a few warehouses and suddenly they are outraged by the terrorism.
