Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke on American Sunrise about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its mission to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse of power across federal agencies.

She emphasized the department’s broad authority in analyzing payment systems and stressed the role of Congress in implementing necessary budget reforms based on DOGE’s findings.

Greene highlighted the expansive scope of DOGE’s oversight, explaining that it is reviewing payment systems across various federal departments to track how taxpayer dollars are being spent.

Dennis Quaid’s #1 Warning for Americans

“Well, DOGE. DOGE is a special department and has broad, overreaching authority. And so what they’re doing is they’re going in each department, and they’re analyzing the payment systems, for example, payment systems within USAID pay. They’re going to be analyzing payment systems in the Department of Education, and they’re looking at, where do the checks go? Follow the money. That’s the most important thing that we can do to realize where money is being wasted, where there’s fraud and where there’s actually abuse of power. And that is exactly what DOGE is doing. It is uncovering all of that.”

According to Greene, DOGE’s findings will enable department heads such as the Secretaries of Education, Commerce, and Treasury to make changes within their agencies to eliminate wasteful spending.

While DOGE is leading the effort to expose financial inefficiencies, Greene stressed that Congress, particularly the House of Representatives, must act on the department’s findings to implement lasting reforms.

“The House holds the checkbook, and we have to do a budget reconciliation. We have to put together a budget, and so we have to put into place the basically, the recommendations and the changes that Elon Musk and his very smart team of young men on DOGE are actually suggesting.”

Greene explained that her committee will play a key role in ensuring transparency and pushing forward legislative changes based on DOGE’s reports.

“But we can do that through the DOGE committee, that’s what my committee is going to do, is we’re also going to be using this, this very important, powerful oversight subcommittee, to highlight intensely, with full transparency for the American people, exactly what Elon Musk and DOGE is finding.”

Greene concluded by emphasizing the urgency of addressing the national debt crisis and how DOGE’s work will help set the country on a path to financial stability.

“And then we’re going to be bringing forward the legislative changes, bills that need to be passed and suggestions that need to be made through appropriations in our budget committee, this is how you make real changes. Everyone working together and aligned on this important project that can transform basically the future of America for generations and generations to come. Debt is going to kill us, but if we dig our way out, we’re all going to be okay.”

As DOGE continues its work under Elon Musk’s leadership, Greene’s committee will oversee the findings and push for the necessary policy changes to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently.

With Congress holding the power of the purse, Greene is calling for decisive legislative action to reform spending and secure America’s financial future.
