Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) expressed deep dissatisfaction with congressional leadership and spending priorities in an interview Monday, warning that Republican lawmakers risk losing voter support if they fail to uphold their campaign promises, as reported by Fox News.
Speaking with Fox News Digital, Greene said she is “extremely frustrated” by what she described as a “tone-deaf attitude” in Washington, D.C., toward the challenges facing everyday Americans.
The congresswoman, who identifies as “unapologetically and radically AMERICA FIRST” and “unapologetically America ONLY” on X, said the Republican Party has drifted away from its stated commitment to the America First agenda.
I’m America First.
Maybe even America only.
I don’t care if you call me an isolationist.
America is our home.
And it’s falling apart.
When my children’s generation are buried in credit card debt, student loan debt, can’t afford rent, can’t afford car insurance, health…

Greene criticized the possibility of Congress approving a continuing resolution she described as a “Biden-budget” before the September 30 government funding deadline.

She argued such a move would represent “a complete failure” given the GOP’s control of both the House and Senate.
The national debt stands at nearly $37 trillion, according to fiscaldata.treasury.gov. Greene urged cutting all foreign aid, calling much of it “more like a bribe” in the case of many recipient nations.
She said “funding foreign wars” is broadly unpopular among Americans and expressed confidence that President Donald Trump, who is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin soon, could negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
Greene also said she supports U.S. withdrawal from NATO. She criticized Congress for “continuing its same stupid behavior while most Americans” struggle, pointing to younger generations who will bear the long-term consequences of what she called “America-last” policies.
“My children, ages 22, 25, and 27, belong to the generation that will pay the price of all the America-last stupidity from elected officials over the decades,” Greene said.
“And I expect better from the Republican Party because they said America First while campaigning, and they should stick to it.”
She reaffirmed her support for a balanced budget amendment and said that if Republicans are serious about their campaign promises, “they should overwhelmingly support” balancing the federal budget.
Greene predicted political fallout if GOP lawmakers fail to deliver on key promises, warning that many voters who supported Republicans in 2024 could choose not to participate in the 2026 midterm elections.
