Nick Reiner, the son of filmmaker Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, remains in custody in Los Angeles as he awaits trial on charges tied to the deaths of his parents in December 2025, as reported by Page Six.
According to reports, Reiner’s attorney, Kimberly Greene, has been the only person to visit him in jail while he remains housed at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
The Daily Mail reported that no other visitors have come to see the 32-year-old since his arrest.
Greene took over the case after attorney Alan Jackson withdrew prior to Reiner’s court hearing in January.
Greene appeared alongside Reiner in court on Feb. 23, when he entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told the Daily Mail that Reiner is being kept separated from other inmates due to the high-profile nature of the case.
“Any type of case like this, a high-profile case, causes the department to place the inmate in what’s called administrative segregation, designed to prevent the inmate from being hurt by other inmates,” Villanueva said.
Villanueva also explained that the clothing Reiner wore during a recent court appearance suggests he is being monitored for mental health concerns.
The former sheriff said the “suicide gown” Reiner wore during his latest hearing indicates he is being held in “mental observation housing” within the jail facility.
“They get mandatory checks every 15 minutes at a minimum, 24/7,” Villanueva claimed of Reiner and other inmates housed in the “K10” section.
“Some have to remain alone at all times because they’re a danger, not only to others, but to themselves too,” he added. “They want to hurt themselves, or they want to hurt somebody else.”
Twin Towers Correctional Facility has previously housed several well-known inmates, including Paris Hilton, Harvey Weinstein, and Robert Downey Jr.
Beverly Hills defense attorney Adam Michael Sacks told Page Six that the facility has drawn criticism over the years.
He said the jail is “disgusting” and added that his clients “begged for bail” when he visited them there.
Inspection reports and court filings cited by The New York Post describe troubling conditions inside some areas of the facility.
According to those records, cells at Twin Towers have been reported to contain feces on walls, urine on floors, and graffiti covering concrete surfaces.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Correctional Health Services in September over what he described as “inhumane” conditions at the facility.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to those allegations by stating that $309 million has been invested into improvements.
Officials said the funding has been used to hire additional staff, repair infrastructure, and make other upgrades to the facility.
Reiner entered his plea during an arraignment held in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom last Monday.
During the hearing, he wore a brown jail jumpsuit and appeared with his hands shackled, speaking with Greene through a plexiglass barrier.
Authorities arrested Reiner after his parents were discovered stabbed to death in their Brentwood home in December 2025. Rob Reiner was 78 years old and Michele Reiner was 70.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that both victims died from “multiple sharp force injuries” and ruled their deaths homicides.
Nick Reiner, the youngest son of the well-known filmmaker, had struggled with drug addiction for years and had reportedly entered rehabilitation programs multiple times.
The writer of the film “Being Charlie” had also been diagnosed with schizophrenia prior to his parents’ deaths.
Reiner’s siblings, Romy Reiner, 28, and Jake Reiner, 34, have not attended any of his court appearances since the killings.
Reiner remains in custody without bail. His next scheduled court appearance is set for April 29.
