Radical DSA Candidate Gushes About Bringing Black Socialism Straight to Washington, D.C. [WATCH]

New York Democrat Darializa Chevalier is running for Congress with an unusually blunt promise.

The Democratic Socialists of America member says she is eager to bring what she calls “black socialism” into the halls of Capitol Hill.

Chevalier is seeking the seat in New York’s 13th Congressional District, where deep blue voting patterns could give another radical Democrat a direct route to federal power.

During an appearance on ELR News with Kevin Ortega Rojas, Chevalier discussed her involvement with DSA and her plans for organizing socialist factions.

She did not attempt to soften the ideology or disguise it behind the usual language about fairness and opportunity.

Instead, Chevalier presented socialism as a political inheritance tied to race and ethnicity.

Her comments suggest that ordinary socialism is apparently no longer specific enough for activists determined to divide every political question into competing identity groups.

Chevalier described her excitement in unmistakable terms while discussing how she wants to influence the socialist organization and, if elected, Congress.

“I think with DSA specifically, something that I’m very excited to do is to build black socialism within the caucuses of DSA. And something that my team and I were very intentional about we’re making sure that we weren’t just talking about socialism broadly, that we were talking about the legacy of socialism in our district, right? A legacy of black socialism, Latino socialism, that focused on racial justice as economic justice,” she said.

The distinction between black socialism, Latino socialism, and the regular variety remains less than clear.

Socialism still requires greater government control, greater political power over economic life, and fewer protections for individuals who would rather make their own decisions.

Chevalier’s rhetoric also reflects the direction of an increasingly radical Democratic Party heading toward the midterm elections.

The old campaign language about kitchen table concerns is being replaced by activist jargon developed in universities and socialist organizing circles.

That background is especially relevant in Chevalier’s case.

She has spent much of the past decade in higher education, collecting the sort of credentials that often launch aspiring radicals toward academia, nonprofit activism, government employment, or elected office.

Her time at Columbia University offers another revealing piece of the political picture.

According to the original report, Chevalier participated in “Students for Justice in Palestine,” an organization whose campus activism has frequently drawn intense criticism from supporters of Israel.

None of this appears to be a temporary campaign pose designed for a primary audience.

Chevalier is openly advertising a governing philosophy rooted in socialism, racial politics, and the activist left, while treating those commitments as qualifications for Congress.

Conservatives have heard similar promises before, usually wrapped in softer language.

Politicians sell expansive government as compassion, present redistribution as justice, and insist that every new federal program will somehow produce prosperity after earlier programs failed to deliver.

Chevalier deserves credit for one thing, even if it is not what her campaign intended.

She is saying the quiet part out loud, giving voters a clear picture of the ideological project she hopes to carry into national office.

The real concern is that New York’s 13th District may be receptive to precisely this message.

In a heavily Democratic area, winning the party contest can matter more than persuading a broad electorate during the general election.

That political reality means Chevalier cannot simply be dismissed as another campus radical with a microphone.

A district favorable to Democrats could turn her activist vocabulary into congressional votes, committee influence, and taxpayer-funded policy proposals.

Americans watching from outside New York should pay attention.

The socialist left does not regard local victories as isolated events, but as building blocks for expanding its influence inside Congress and pushing the Democratic Party further toward government control.

Chevalier’s enthusiasm for “black socialism” may sound like another trendy ideological rebrand, but the underlying program is familiar.

The label changes, the identity categories multiply, and the sales pitch gets polished, while socialism keeps demanding more authority over everyone else.
