Shooting Rampage Leaves Several Injured, Including State Trooper in Kentucky [WATCH]

A series of shootings at Blue Grass Airport and a local church in Fayette County, Kentucky, left multiple people injured Sunday morning, including a state trooper.

According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), the suspect involved was fatally shot.

The incident began around 11:36 a.m., when reports of gunfire were first received.

KSP confirmed on X that it is actively investigating the incident and coordinating with other agencies.

The attacks occurred at two locations: Blue Grass Airport in Lexington and Richmond Road Baptist Church.

The number of victims has not been confirmed, but police reported that multiple individuals at the church were injured.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene, and a state trooper wounded during the incident is currently receiving medical attention.

“At this time, we can confirm that the trooper is receiving medical attention,” the Kentucky State Police said in a statement.

“There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS is on scene. The suspect is deceased.”

Senator Rand Paul, who represents Kentucky, acknowledged the tragedy in a post on X and called for prayers for those affected.

“Kelley and I are praying for all the victims, the injured trooper, and their families,” Senator Paul wrote.

“We are grateful for the brave first responders. Violence like this has no place.”

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear also addressed the situation on social media and urged the public to keep the victims and first responders in their thoughts.

“Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let’s give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police,” Governor Beshear wrote.

Authorities have not released the identity of the suspect or the motive behind the shootings.

Local law enforcement and state officials are continuing to gather evidence from both crime scenes.

The Lexington Police Department is working with the Kentucky State Police and federal agencies as part of the ongoing investigation.

Both Blue Grass Airport and Richmond Road Baptist Church were temporarily closed to the public during the law enforcement response.

Local residents were advised to avoid the area while emergency crews treated the injured and investigators secured the scene.
