A motorcyclist learned a painful lesson about reckless showboating after an attempted stunt on a crowded Idaho freeway ended with the rider bouncing across the pavement.

The spectacular failure was captured on camera as nearby drivers navigated around the rolling road hazard.

The incident unfolded September 9 on Interstate 84 in Boise, according to the Idaho State Police.

Authorities said a group of riders had been weaving through traffic and performing dangerous tricks before one rider lost control in dramatic fashion.

Gold. Upgraded. Buy real gold from $1. Store it in America. Sell it with one click.

Video released by the department shows two motorcyclists surrounded by ordinary traffic as vehicles continue moving around them.

Rather than focusing on the road, the riders take turns lifting their front wheels and performing wheelies in the middle of the busy freeway.

That decision quickly produced the sort of instant justice only asphalt can deliver.

One motorcyclist loses balance, falls from the bike, and slams onto the roadway while vehicles remain dangerously close.

This Could Be the Most Important Video Gun Owners Watch All Year

The rider tumbles across the pavement as the motorcycle slides away nearby.

A pickup truck behind the rider appears to slow down, narrowly avoiding what could have become a fatal collision or a major chain-reaction crash.

Police said the rider escaped without any major injuries, despite the obvious potential for disaster.

Given the traffic, speed, and lack of protection surrounding the stunt, that outcome was far more fortunate than the rider had any right to expect.

“Thankfully, the rider was cleared by medical personnel at the scene,” cops said.

The relatively minor medical outcome did not spare either rider from consequences delivered by law enforcement.

“Both motorcyclists were cited for reckless driving. This could have ended much worse.”

That warning may sound obvious to responsible drivers, but apparently it needed to be spelled out for two people treating Interstate 84 like their personal stunt course.

Authorities also urged other motorcycle enthusiasts to use basic judgment while taking advantage of the remaining riding season.

“Enjoy the remaining riding weather, but ride responsibly. Reckless driving puts everyone on the road at risk,” police added.

The officers were not exaggerating, since freeway stunts threaten far more people than the riders performing them.

A driver forced to brake or swerve could strike another vehicle, lose control, or trigger a pileup involving motorists who had nothing to do with the foolish display.

Social media users wasted little time delivering their own verdict on the crash.

Many commenters mocked the rider for discovering that pavement is considerably less forgiving than an audience watching a wheelie.

“Asphalt. The permanent tattoo remover!” one person wrote.

The comment captured the brutal reality of hitting a roadway while moving at freeway speed, even if this particular rider somehow avoided serious injury.

“Well, Darwin certainly comes to mind here,” another added.

It was a sharp assessment of a stunt that placed both the rider and innocent motorists in needless danger for what appeared to be little more than attention and bragging rights.

Other viewers focused on the pickup truck immediately behind the fallen motorcyclist.

“He’s very lucky that pickup behind him didn’t run right over top of him!” one commenter wrote.

That driver appeared to have only moments to react after the rider fell into an active traffic lane.

Had the pickup been closer, moving faster, or blocked from changing course, the video could have documented a tragedy rather than an embarrassing lesson.

Some commenters argued that reckless driving citations were not a strong enough response.

“Should have impounded the bikes and arrested them. Could have caused a major pile up,” another added.

That frustration is understandable when reckless behavior forces innocent drivers to participate in somebody else’s stunt without consent.

Motorists commuting, transporting children, or simply traveling through Boise should not have to dodge motorcycles operated like circus props.

The rider walked away, the pickup driver avoided a nightmare, and police issued citations to both motorcyclists.

Next time, luck may not be riding alongside them, and Idaho pavement has already made clear that it does not care who is watching.

Gold is the oldest answer. SoundMoney makes owning it as easy as the apps you already use.
