CNN analysts are usually not in the business of cheering on Republican candidates, especially not in deep blue Los Angeles.

But this week, even network data man Harry Enten could not ignore what is happening in the City of Angels.

According to him, reality TV star and outspoken conservative Spencer Pratt has seen his odds of beating Democrat incumbent Karen Bass rise, in his own words, “up like a rocket.”

Enten appeared on CNN’s “News Central” to discuss the wild shift in betting markets that are suddenly taking Pratt’s campaign seriously.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

When pressed by cohost John Berman, Enten admitted that only a few months ago, Pratt’s odds stood at seven percent.

Now, they have soared to twenty-seven percent. For a man the legacy media mocked as a Hollywood fringe act, that jump is sending shockwaves through the establishment.

Berman set up the segment by describing Pratt’s campaign as flashy and attention-grabbing.

In his usual cautious tone, he suggested the actor’s big-budget ads were generating buzz, but he seemed surprised by how much traction the campaign is getting beyond social media.

It was clear from his questions that CNN did not expect to be reporting on a serious challenge to Bass in the mayoral race.

When Enten took over, his tone carried the half-embarrassment, half-disbelief that often comes when the political left realizes voters are not following the script.

“You go back a few months ago, February, he had just a 7 percent chance,” Enten said.

“Now it’s up like a rocket.”

His phrasing captured exactly what conservative voters in the city have hoped for, a moment when the stale progressive leadership in Los Angeles finally gets called to account.

Enten admitted he had initially dismissed Pratt’s run.

He even confessed that friends of his were fans of the former television personality, but he had written off their enthusiasm as fantasy.

Now that data is moving, Enten seemed forced to admit that the race is not a joke anymore.

That realization could not have been easy for CNN’s analysts, who routinely paint Los Angeles as an impenetrable blue fortress.

While Enten cautioned that Pratt still faced an uphill climb, he acknowledged that twenty-seven percent is no small number in a city where Democrat victories are often treated as foregone conclusions.

“There’s a pretty decent chance of it now,” he added, emphasizing that those who dismissed Pratt might be in for a surprise.

For the progressive power brokers who have dominated city hall, that warning could sting more than Enten intended.

Bass, who has struggled with Los Angeles’ rising homelessness, rampant crime, and the ongoing exodus of working families, seems to be facing the political consequences of her record.

Voters appear increasingly frustrated with empty promises and flashy social programs that have done little to clean up the city.

Pratt’s blunt messaging and his promise to restore order and responsibility appeal to those tired of chaos.

Recent reports indicate Pratt’s campaign is attracting independent voters who have lost patience with traditional politicians.

Even some moderate Democrats, particularly in working-class neighborhoods, have told local outlets they are ready for someone who will tackle public safety rather than virtue signaling about climate initiatives while streets remain unsafe.

Conservatives across California are watching the development with renewed interest.

A credible right-leaning candidate making headway in Los Angeles could signal a shift far beyond Hollywood.

It might show that voters in even the most liberal enclaves are ready to reject failed progressive governance when the reality outside their front doors becomes impossible to deny.

As prediction markets continue to fluctuate, political insiders are beginning to treat Pratt’s candidacy as a serious test of where frustration with the left’s results-driven rhetoric has reached.

If a man known for television drama can actually threaten a sitting Democrat mayor in Los Angeles, the story may become less about the candidate and more about what voters are trying to say.

CNN’s coverage, though reluctant, shows that even mainstream commentators cannot completely bury the story.

They may frame it in polite skepticism, but every upward tick in those betting odds represents growing unrest among ordinary residents.

People are angry about broken promises, housing crises, and the endless taxes that never seem to fix anything.

Pratt’s rise also reflects the power of outside voices to tap into genuine discontent. His campaign is loud, unapologetic, and distinctly nontraditional.

The Hollywood establishment that tried to dismiss him as a novelty may soon realize that authenticity and bluntness connect with voters in a way carefully scripted talking points never will.

The energy surrounding Pratt’s run may not guarantee victory, but it undoubtedly injects new life into conservative morale inside a city long dominated by left-wing politics.

If Bass and her allies thought they could simply coast to another term, CNN’s “up like a rocket” remark just dashed that illusion.

Los Angeles might be getting ready for a political plot twist no one at CNN anticipated.
