Talarico’s Genius Strategy: Lie

James Talarico has lit upon the Spanberger strategy that took her into the governor’s mansion in Virginia: lie early and often. 

Liberals love it.

After winning his spot on the general election ballot, Talarico is busily rewriting history, doing full reversals on longstanding positions, and working mightily to cover up his parody-worthy history of spewing woke nonsense to his lefty supporters and church members.

The response from the left is exactly what you would expect: Talarico “looks to me more and more like a candidate who is serious about trying to win in Texas.” 

Well, yes, I will grant you that. 

As I said recently, Talarico appears to understand what many in his party do not. To win in Texas, he has to moderate. A lot.

But some of us think that doing this should not involve lying. Nobody seriously believes that Talarico has changed his mind about anything; what he is doing is trying to change The Narrative™, which is the move that every lying sack of excrement does when he is trying to con you.

Talarico is turning himself into, as Stephen Miller put it, Candidate ChatGPT, spouting focus-group-tested cow dung to create an image utterly at odds with who he is. We aren’t talking about hanging tweets from 2016 around his neck. The man is a preacher and a legislator, and his record of insanity is documented from the moment he burst onto the scene until he started his run for Senate. 

He didn’t change his mind. He changed what he is saying. But we have a voting record and hours of video.

Pretty soon, Talarico will be carrying a Confederate flag and driving a Ford F-250 Supercab to prove that he is not the beta male he appears to be. He will adopt the patented Hillary Clinton southern twang and get caught with an open can of Lone Star beer while speeding. He will then go on a rant about those homos, spew vile anti-Hispanic slurs, and reveal his Nazi tattoo, since that seems to work for Democrats when trying to prove they are normal.

Talarico claims that his comments were taken out of context, although I am not certain what context you can put on the claim that there are six sexes.

I’m not at all surprised that Talarico is doing an about-face to win, nor am I surprised that he is getting plaudits for upping his game at lying. 

It should give those of us in the content creation business lots of fodder over the coming months, so I should be grateful.

But I have to admit that it really irks me that so many liberal “journalists” are applauding his deceptions, not even bothering to hide that they are deceptions or even trying to claim that he has changed his mind, “grown,” or pick your euphemism… They are straight up saying that it’s great that he is a liar. 

It’s a similar phenomenon to the idolization of Graham Platner, who exists at the other end of the masculinity spectrum. 

They don’t even try to spin things; they look you in the eye and ask you to suspend disbelief, hold your nose, and vote for the degenerate. 

It’s the only way to save democracy.
