The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese Joins Steve Bannon As Establishment Republicans Sabotage Trump Redistricting Efforts

Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese joined Steve Bannon on “War Room” to break down the fallout from Indiana Republicans killing a redistricting plan backed by President Donald Trump.

Reese told Bannon on War Room that Trump and his allies are “rightfully very angry” after 21 state Senate Republicans voted with Democrats to defeat the effort Thursday.

“There were a couple of establishment-like people in this Indiana Senate who wanted to go a different way, who wanted to stab the president in the back,” Reese said.

She reported that Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz has spent weeks vetting candidates to primary all 21 Republican senators. Turning Point USA Action has begun hiring staff to work on the ground in Indiana, and Heritage Action and Club for Growth have also pledged to back primary challengers. A source close to the White House told Reese the response will be severe. “Metaphorically speaking, this ends with heads on pikes,” the source said.

Bannon framed the Indiana loss as a potential signal that establishment Republicans see “the end of the MAGA movement” and are “ready to move on.”

Reese agreed the White House faces mounting pressure heading into the 2026 midterms. She noted some Trump supporters feel the president focuses too much on foreign policy over domestic issues.

“I think the White House is probably wise to send a message right now, get ahead of it while they still can,” Reese said.

Bruesewitz told the Daily Caller that Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray and Sen. Greg Goode top his list of primary targets. Trump called out Bray by name on Truth Social, writing he would “certainly support anybody that wants to go against him.”
