Authorities have recaptured three more inmates who were among 10 individuals who escaped from the Orleans Parish jail in New Orleans on May 16. Law enforcement officials confirmed the arrests on Monday, bringing the total number of recaptured escapees to eight, with two still at large, as reported by The New York Post.
Lenton Vanburen was arrested in Baton Rouge and is now back in custody. According to Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Vanburen was originally held on charges including parole violation, possession of a firearm by a felon, and illegal carrying of a weapon.

In a separate incident, the Texas Department of Public Safety apprehended escapees Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald in Walker County, Texas. Huntsville Police stated that the two men led officers from several agencies on a high-speed pursuit through the Huntsville area.
The chase ended near U.S. Highway 190 and Geneva, where both were taken into custody without further incident.
Jermaine Donald had been incarcerated on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated battery, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, and obstruction of justice.
Leo Tate was jailed for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, motor vehicle theft, illegal weapon possession, and multiple drug offenses. Both men are now facing additional escape-related charges.
The three recent arrests follow the earlier recaptures of Corey Boyd, Kendell Myles, Robert Moody, Dkenan Dennis, and Gary Price.
Authorities continue their search for the remaining fugitives: Antoine Massey, 32, and Derrick Groves, 27. Massey faces charges including domestic abuse by strangulation, vehicle theft, and a parole violation.
Groves is charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and battery of a correctional facility employee.
In addition to the eight escapees now back in custody, law enforcement has arrested 13 individuals for allegedly assisting in the jailbreak.
Among them is Diamond White, 21, who authorities say aided Massey, who remains at large.
Others arrested for their involvement include Lenika Vanburen, 28; Patricia Vanburen, 18; Tyshanea “Minnie” Randolph, 27; Lenton Vanburen Sr., 47; and Angel McKey, 40. A source confirmed to Fox News that Vanburen Sr. is the father of escapee Lenton Vanburen Jr.
Additional accomplices include Casey Smith, Cortnie Harris, and Connie Weeden, 59, who allegedly transferred money to Donald via a cellphone payment app. Weeden has been charged with one felony count of accessory after the fact.
