Tim McGraw Takes Hard Onstage Tumble at Concert After Arriving 40 Minutes Late in Cincinnati [WATCH]

Tim McGraw took a hard fall in the middle of his Cincinnati concert Thursday night, adding another rocky moment to a show that had already started late.

The country icon arrived nearly 45 minutes behind schedule before eventually taking the stage at Riverbend Music Center.

The 59 year old singer was performing “I Like It, I Love It” when his cowboy boot became caught on the flooring.

McGraw lost his balance, tumbled backward and landed on his backside midway through the show.

Despite the dramatic spill, McGraw quickly got himself back on his feet and continued singing.

He was still holding his microphone when he stood up, and he flashed a smile after recovering from the fall.

McGraw addressed the mishap Friday by posting footage from the concert on Instagram. “Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn’t stay on mine,” he quipped in the caption.

The singer also thanked the audience for attending and joining him throughout the performance.

McGraw did not immediately reveal the fall when followers began moving through his Instagram post.

He first shared four photographs from the Cincinnati concert, saving the footage of his tumble for the fifth slide.

The fifth slide opened with a fitting voiceover that called attention to the awkward position in which he found himself.

“Yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.”

The video then showed McGraw losing his footing and falling backward as he performed.

His arms flailed while he tried to regain his balance, but he ultimately landed on his backside before quickly popping back up.

The fall followed a difficult beginning to the evening, as the concert did not start when expected.

McGraw appeared onstage at approximately 9:40 p.m., roughly 40 minutes after the scheduled start, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

When McGraw finally walked onto the stage, he immediately acknowledged that he had made it to the venue.

“I made it!” he told the waiting Cincinnati crowd after his delayed arrival.

The “Live Like You Were Dying” singer also apologized to those in attendance for the late start.

He explained that travel and weather issues were responsible for the delay before moving ahead with the concert.

Thursday night was not the first time McGraw had fallen during a live performance.

He previously collapsed from dehydration while appearing at the Country to Country festival in Dublin, Ireland, in March 2018.

McGraw responded to that earlier incident with another joke on social media.

At the time, he posted a photograph showing himself wearing scuba gear at the bottom of the ocean and simply captioned the image, “Hydrating.”

During the Cincinnati show, McGraw did not deliver a tribute to the late Dolly Parton.

However, he had honored the country legend through a social media post earlier in the week, writing about her influence as both a person and an entertainer.

“She was an icon and showed us all what was possible, not only as a human but as an entertainer,” McGraw wrote on Instagram.

His message described Parton as an example for the performers who followed her.

“She was the blueprint, head and shoulders above anyone that came before her and all those of us that have come after.”

McGraw continued his tribute by praising the kindness, grace, humor and smile that Parton displayed.

“Everything she did, she did it with kindness, grace and that famous wit and smile. It’s been hard to not be in tears all day. There will never be another Dolly Parton,” he added.

Although McGraw did not mention Parton during his Cincinnati appearance, his earlier Instagram tribute made his feelings clear.

Meanwhile, his latest social media post allowed him to laugh at his own rough landing while thanking the Cincinnati audience and turning his attention toward Detroit.
