WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Former top aide Jordan Domingue quit Abdul El-Sayed’s Senate campaign and publicly accused the candidate of dishonesty, immaturity, and abusive management.
  • Domingue said El-Sayed’s foreign policy and treatment of campaign staff caused him to reconsider his loyalty and leave the campaign.
  • The former aide challenged El-Sayed’s public service claims and mocked what he called the candidate’s performed masculinity.
  • Domingue also questioned El-Sayed’s law enforcement messaging and the circumstances surrounding a Wayne County deputies union endorsement.

Jordan Domingue, a former top staffer who worked on two campaigns for Abdul El-Sayed, has quit the Democrat’s United States Senate campaign and is publicly unloading on the candidate he once protected. His account portrays El-Sayed as an artificial political figure whose public image clashes with his conduct behind closed doors.

Domingue said he served as El-Sayed’s personal assistant and executive protection lead during the campaigns. He described being the first person to see El-Sayed in the morning and the last to see him at night while working six or seven days each week and logging more than 50,000 miles.

In a post on X, Domingue explained that he returned to Michigan twice and left two overseas jobs early to work for El-Sayed. He also recounted helping El-Sayed’s wife with hospital visits while she was pregnant and painting an original piece of artwork for the candidate’s birthday.

Domingue said foreign policy was not discussed during El-Sayed’s gubernatorial campaign, but became a central concern during the Senate campaign. “His foreign policy was driven by a desire to invoke what seemed like misplaced revenge.”

The former aide said his outlook changed when he concluded El-Sayed did not care about civilians and peace. Domingue wrote that this realization forced him to reconsider behavior he previously ignored or excused because of loyalty to the candidate.

After leaving the campaign, Domingue became the founder of Democrats for Mike Rogers. He has since used the group’s X account to criticize El-Sayed and explain why he believes Democrats should support Rogers.

Abdul El-Sayed wants to…

✅Send our money overseas to UNRWA, whose employees participated in the October 7th terrorist attacks, raping and murdering Israeli women and children.

✅Raise taxes on working class Michiganders.

Domingue presented himself as an insider with extensive personal access to El-Sayed. He alleged that El-Sayed’s management drove multiple campaign staffers to tears and dangerous breaking points, while he initially dismissed the behavior as a product of campaign stress.

He also described El-Sayed as acting like an entitled mobster toward elected officials during 2017 and 2018. Domingue said El-Sayed would deliver different messages to different groups within hours, conduct the candidate allegedly described as “strategic ambiguity.”

Domingue pointed to the Mount Sinai lawsuit as the opposition research that most accurately reflected El-Sayed’s character, based on his own experience. He also invoked a Shakespeare quotation that he said El-Sayed repeated almost every day: “Past is absolutely prologue.”

I’ll share insight as the campaign staff member who has to this day, had the most 1:1 time with him. The first person to see him in the morning and the last to see him at night. Some average of 6-7 days a week, 12-14 hr days, 50,000+ miles, hundreds of harribo halal happy colas,… pic.twitter.com/X5BSgV8fyg

The former staffer challenged El-Sayed’s claim that he has “10 years of public service experience.” Domingue said he knew the statement was false while working for him and argued that El-Sayed was using it to bolster his qualifications for the United States Senate.

On the trail he likes to say he has “10 years of public service experience.” I knew that was a lie while working for him, but I also was surprised he would say it. Not because it was a lie, but because 10 years of public service work experience at 41 was embarrassing to me.… https://t.co/YHSzgUcVwf

Domingue also mocked what he characterized as El-Sayed’s carefully performed masculinity. “His masculinity is a performance , and he has the maturity to match it.”

A lot of people are saying he might be gay, and I think that is inaccurate. This behavior is best explained by the guy who never grew past the high school locker room. His masculinity is a performance, and he has the maturity to match it.

One of the most disrespectful and… https://t.co/hXMASVwh1N

@taylorswift13 Did you give permission to this controversial, Jew-hating, America-hating, Terrorist- funded US Senate candidate, who’s campaigning with Hassan Piker, who said “America deserves 9-11,” to use your music in his campaign ad? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/SBfiNyZL9J

That criticism extended to El-Sayed’s private behavior, which Domingue described as immature and rooted in a high school locker room mentality. He claimed El-Sayed enjoyed farting openly around others and treated it as his preferred form of stand up comedy.

Domingue further claimed that many of El-Sayed’s tough guy stories were fake and appeared only recently. He recalled taking El-Sayed grappling once and alleged that the candidate falsely claimed he had bruised a rib so he would not have to return.

The former aide urged journalists not to be intimidated by El-Sayed’s appearance of toughness or his antagonistic filibusters. Domingue argued that reporters should press him with difficult questions, follow up questions, and rebuttals, particularly concerning Israel and Palestine.

To anyone in media interviewing him. Don’t let the appearance of toughness and his slightly antagonistic filibusters bully you. After he does his stunt just get to your questions. He will fold, and transition into the victim built on grievance, which is truly all he is. Other… https://t.co/ZvogdoUCwO

Domingue also scrutinized a July 28 endorsement from the Wayne County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. The endorsement came from the union representing Wayne County deputies, not from the Wayne County sheriff’s office or a statewide deputies’ organization.

According to Domingue, El-Sayed’s campaign video used imagery intended to suggest experience in law enforcement or the protection industry. He called El-Sayed “A manufactured man” and claimed the endorsement involved personal relationships rather than a serious policy discussion with multiple primary candidates.

Domingue said El-Sayed’s past comments about crime and law enforcement remain a major vulnerability. He accused El-Sayed and other leftists of hiding or misrepresenting their support for defunding police, ending cash bail, and emptying jails.

The former aide argued that Democrats have lost the trust of people who perform physically demanding labor and finish long days with dirt or blood under their fingernails. His blunt verdict on El-Sayed was equally unforgiving: “If Abdul were an honest man, he would just say he was wrong.”

A point that too many democrats don’t understand as they cling to death on “affordability”, and completely misunderstand the culture wars. People who work for a living. People whose labor is taxing on their body. People who have dirt or sometimes blood under their fingernails at… https://t.co/0Qa39jYoxV
