Olivia Craighead, a writer for New York Magazine’s “The Cut,” took aim at the sartorial choices made by guests at the weddings of two Trump officials.
“[B]asically no one was capable of turning a look,” claims Craighead. “Turning a look” appears to be an annoying way of saying, “looking presentable.”
Alex Bruesewitz, President Donald Trump’s podcast guru in the 2024 election, married former Miss Nevada Carolina Urrea on Saturday. Urrea wore an enormous, stunning white ballgown over what appears to be a lace bodysuit.
“Apparently the New York Magazine is BLIND!” Bruesewitz responded on X, attaching photos of himself and Urrea.
“Not a single person was capable of turning a look.”

Blind, or throwing criticism at the wall until something sticks.
Craighead notes that rapper Sexyy Red “made the tasteful decision to perform in a white bodysuit” at the wedding, presumably a sarcastic comment. I agree with this point of criticism. Sexyy Red’s outfit and musical stylings are not to my taste.
Craighead then shifts her focus to the wedding of White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino to Erin Elmore.
The couple “got hitched at Mar-a-Lago, where the theme appeared to be ‘bad accessories,’” says Craighead.
Craighead points to Elon Musk’s scarf.
“Now, you might think he just wore that because it was a little chilly for Florida, and he swiftly took it off once inside. You’d be wrong. It was part of the look.”
Again, I don’t totally disagree. It’s a fairly ridiculous scarf.
But Craighead’s conclusion is overstated: “Two MAGA weddings, hundreds of guests, and not a lick of taste to be seen anywhere. If they’re going to run the country into the ground, the least they could do is look good while doing it.”
She avoids mention of Attorney General Pam Bondi, who attended Scavino’s wedding in a professional black floral skirt and a red button down.

Craighead mentions White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, but declines to opine on her outfit. Maybe because she couldn’t find anything too offensive in Leavitt’s fashion: a modest black dress at Scavino’s wedding, an asymmetrical red dress at Bruesewitz’s wedding.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr wore a tux to Bruesewitz’s wedding, as did most of the male guests. They all looked normal.
Rapper Nicki Minaj attended Bruesewitz’s wedding as well, wearing the sort of dress you’d pretty much expect Nicki Minaj to wear. It’s revealing, but not outlandishly flashy.
