President Donald Trump responded directly to speculation about his health on Sunday, declaring on Truth Social that he has “never felt better,” while also pointing to Washington, DC’s dramatic decline in crime following his administration’s intervention, as reported by The New York Post.
The President’s post came after several days of online rumors that had circulated during his relatively quiet weekend at his golf resort in Sterling, Virginia.
Social media had filled with speculation about his absence, with the hashtag “TrumpIsDead” trending on X by Friday evening after the White House released a blank public schedule.

Trump dismissed the rumors in a statement that read: “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!” His remarks came just days after his administration assumed control of the DC Metropolitan Police Department.

The speculation was further silenced when Trump appeared in public on Saturday, departing with his granddaughter Kai Trump for a round of golf in Virginia.

Despite the online attention, crime enforcement efforts in the nation’s capital continued during his absence. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that violent crime in the city had fallen by 45 percent compared to the same time last year.
Overall crime rates dropped by 15 percent, according to officials.
Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser acknowledged the changes during a press conference last Wednesday, crediting the additional resources provided by the Trump administration.
“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” Bowser said.
Trump also used the holiday weekend to highlight progress on other fronts, noting economic strength in posts celebrating Labor Day. His message tied both public safety and economic stability to his administration’s policies.
The speculation about the President’s health echoed previous attempts on social media to question his condition, though recent polling has shown his voter base remains firmly supportive.

The appearance with his granddaughter and his energetic statement on Truth Social marked Trump’s public dismissal of those rumors while reinforcing his focus on both law enforcement and the economy.

The White House has not announced any changes to the President’s schedule for the week ahead, but aides indicated that more public appearances are expected following the Labor Day holiday.
