President Donald Trump said in a Monday Truth Social post that he will lead the movement to get rid of mail-in ballots and “inaccurate” voting machines ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Trump wrote that he plans on signing an executive order on the matter to help bring “honesty” to the upcoming midterm elections. The president added that elections “can never be honest” if they include mail-in ballots. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: RNC Deploys Election Integrity Team To New Jersey, Virginia In Midterm Blitz)
“I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly ‘Inaccurate,’ Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES, which cost Ten Times more than accurate and sophisticated Watermark Paper, which is faster, and leaves NO DOUBT, at the end of the evening, as to who WON, and who LOST, the Election,” Trump wrote.
“We are now the only Country in the World that uses Mail-In Voting. All others gave it up because of the MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD ENCOUNTERED. WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY THE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections,” he continued.
Since the 2020 election, election integrity has been a focus of Trump and the Republican National Committee (RNC). The GOP was subject to a 1982 consent decree for 40 years, which was enacted following a lawsuit from the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The decree hindered the party’s ability to engage in election integrity lawsuits, but it was lifted in 2018.
The RNC began its election integrity efforts in 2022, an official told the Daily Caller in 2024. By the time of the 2024 presidential election, the efforts officially became a department that included communications, politics and legal arms, the Caller previously reported.
In its first election cycle as a department, the RNC filed more than 100 election integrity lawsuits across 20 states, according to the RNC’s “Protect The Vote” website. Across the country, the party recruited 230,000 volunteers and 6,500 lawyers, RNC Chairman Michael Whatley previously told the Caller.

As Trump teases executive action on election integrity, the party is revving up its efforts heading into the midterms, the Caller reported.
Whatley previously told the Caller the GOP will be focusing on Senate races in Georgia, North Carolina, Maine, Michigan and Kentucky. There are also critical congressional seats they will be monitoring, including in solidly Democratic states like New York and California. “With their HORRIBLE Radical Left policies, like Open Borders, Men Playing in Women’s Sports, Transgender and ‘WOKE’ for everyone, and so much more, Democrats are virtually Unelectable without using this completely disproven Mail-In SCAM. ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS. I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS,” Trump wrote in his Monday post.
“THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!! REMEMBER, WITHOUT FAIR AND HONEST ELECTIONS, AND STRONG AND POWERFUL BORDERS, YOU DON’T HAVE EVEN A SEMBLANCE OF A COUNTRY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!!” Trump continued.
