Trump to IRGC: Surrender for Immunity, or Prepare to Die; Urges Iranians to ‘Seize the Moment’

The remnants of the Iranian regime began asking for a conversation with Donald Trump today, as US and Israeli jets pound military sites with impunity. Trump told The Atlantic that he would be willing to talk. Now we know what the terms will be.

Trump addressed the American people today to express his “resolve” to see the Iranian threat destroyed once and for all. He mourned the loss of three US service members today, and warned that the battle will produce more casualties. The outcome must be the end of all threats from Iran’s regime, and offered a very clear deal for the remnants. They can surrender and receive immunity, or die at the hands of the US/Israeli operation:

President Donald Trump said today that members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard who lay down their arms will be granted “full immunity,” and those who refuse “face certain death.”

“I once again urge the Revolutionary Guard, the Iranian military police, to lay down your arms and receive full immunity or face certain death,” Trump said in a video address Sunday afternoon. “It will be certain death. It won’t be pretty.”

At the same time, Trump sent out the call that Iranians had waited to hear. The time has arrived for them to take control of their own destiny:

Turning to the Iranian people, Trump again urged them to “seize this moment,” adding that he fulfilled a promise to them to help.

“I call upon all Iranian patriots who yearn for freedom to seize this moment, to be brave, be bold, be heroic and take back your country. America is with you. I made a promise to you, and I fulfilled that promise,” Trump said.

Has the US/Israeli offensive inflicted enough damage on the regime’s internal security for an uprising at this moment? One nearly succeeded seven weeks ago despite the regime being at full strength. It appears that both countries have reached a level of confidence in their strikes that they believe the regime is ready to collapse. A couple of hours ago, the joint forces hacked Iranian state television to proclaim the moment of deliverance:

At some point, the lack of command and control will have the IRGC and Basij units wondering how long they’ll be able to keep themselves alive when the regime falls. We may not have yet reached a tipping point, but when it comes, these roaches will scurry for the dark, burying their uniforms and attempting to blend into the mobs looking for justice after 47 years of brutal repression. 

A formal surrender with immunity might start looking pretty good. Stay tuned. It’s just after 1:30 am in Tehran now, and a lot can happen in the dark.
