UnitedHealthcare said it has terminated an employee after a TikTok video circulated online showing comments about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump during an event in Washington, as reported by The New York Post.

The individual, identified as Alison King, was described as a social media manager for the company. In the video, she reacted to news of the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner and said, “Aww, they missed?”

King also stated in the video, “We’re cooked as a country when my first reaction to hearing the news about Trump’s attempt was, ‘It was probably fake,’” and added, “Like, immediately I was like, ‘Oh, that wasn’t real, probably fake.’”

She continued, “And the second was ‘Aww, they missed? So happy they missed.’ Yeah, that’s sad,” before adding, “That’s when you know we’re cooked.”

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

According to reports, King deleted her LinkedIn account after the video drew attention. Fox News Digital reported that she declined to comment when contacted.

In a statement released Tuesday, a spokesperson for UnitedHealthcare said, “Violence is never acceptable and any comments that suggest otherwise are in no way consistent with our mission and values.

The person who made comments online about Saturday night’s incident at a Washington event where President Trump and many other political leaders were gathered is no longer employed by the company.”

The incident referenced in the video occurred Saturday night at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Authorities said the suspected shooter, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, was taken into custody after allegedly opening fire at the event.

Law enforcement sources indicated that Allen intended to target members of the Trump administration. He is currently facing the possibility of life in prison.

The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner is an annual event attended by journalists, public officials, and political figures, including the President of the United States. Security at the event is typically extensive.

In a separate case involving the company, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed on Dec. 4, 2024, in Midtown Manhattan. The suspect in that case, Luigi Mangione, is scheduled to return to state court on May 18 for a ruling on motions to suppress evidence and statements related to his arrest in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
