Waah: Nobody Will Help Al Green Impeach the Orange Man

Another day, another Rep Al Green impeachment attempt on Donald Trump.

Now, the delightful, erudite Mr Green has to get in what cracks at Trump that he can, because the Texas State Legislature, in that redistricting plan that just got the official blessing from the courts?

Well, they drew his Green butt right out of a seat next year.

So time’s a’ wastin’ for Al to make his mark and shake his cane as a U.S. Congressman.

The countdown to ‘gone’ is on.

Last night, Green demanded a vote to impeach Trump as an ‘abuser of presidential power.’

The general reaction seemed to be,’ Yeah, yeah, yeah‘ as he got himself all spooled up.

…As he demanded a vote to impeach Trump on Wednesday, Green called him “an abuser of presidential power.”

According to Green, the president is “engendering invidious hate, putting American lives at risk, undermining our democracy, and dissolving our Republic.”

Citing Trump’s fiery response to Democrat lawmakers’ “seditious” video calling on military service members and intelligence officials to refuse “illegal orders” from the Trump administration, Green argued that if any other president had said that sedition is “punishable by death” the opposition party “would have voted to impeach him.”

The congressman went on to invoke the names of late civil rights activists Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), calling on his fellow representatives to “take a stand,” like they did, and impeach Trump. 

“I will take a stand to protect government of the people, by the people, for the people. I will take a stand to impeach this abuser of presidential power. I will do so even if I must stand alone, because for me, on this issue, it is better to stand alone than not stand at all,” Green stated.

So, there Green stood, shaking that cane, and in an unusual show of bipartisanship, Democrats crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans to make him sit down.

…House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) then introduced a motion to table Green’s motion, which passed overwhelmingly.

H.R. 939, to impeach Trump for “high crimes and misdemeanors,” was tabled by a vote of 237 to 140, with 47 “present” votes.

Two dozen of Green’s fellow Dems voted ‘table that sucker,’ and the three top House Dems were part of the 47 ‘presents’ recorded. Again, all Democrats.

This was a little closer vote than the one on Green’s June impeachment attempt, which pulled 128 Democrats along with all 216 Republicans for a final 344-79 vote.

But the end result was still the same.

And sent Green over the edge in a tizzy about ‘filthy, colored water fountains’ and ‘having to go ’round back’ to get his food.

All of which was his party’s doing.

President Trump is safe for at least another weekend.

I hope Al’s burnishing that resume if he hasn’t padded his nest like every other congressional member, as I’ve seen no appreciable skills to convince me he’s hirable in the private sector.

He’d be smacking people over the head at Walmart.
