Walz: Let’s Remember That The Real Problem Is White Guys

Well … suuuuuure. At least one white guy in particular.

And lucky us! It just happens to be the white guy at the mic.

Governor JazzHands McSnitchline wants Minnesotans to know that all this focus on what clearly has been an organizing fraud enterprise in the Somalian refugee community that may have drained billions of dollars from taxpayers isn’t the real crime problem. The real crime wave in the Land of 10,000 Loons is the White Dude Crime Wave.

What has Tim Walz done about it? Other than lead it? Walz doesn’t actually say:

TIM WALZ: “The majority of crime is committed by White Men. It’s crime in general. We need to be educating the population…Medicaid fraud will stretch across ALL racial demographics and ethnic groups. I think you can’t blame the Somali community.”

WOW.

It’s not exactly a shock to hear Walz claim that white men commit the “majority of crime” in Minnesota. Men generally commit far more crime anyway, and over 81% of Minnesota’s population is white. Black men and women account for only 8.2% of the population of the state. And yet, the crime statistics compiled by the state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for 2024, published two months ago in a report for the state legislature, paint a very different picture than Walz suggests – even if Walz’ comments were a deflection from the current massive scandal emerging in his administration.

For one thing, Walz’ statement isn’t even literally true, at least not in significant categories. When it comes to homicides in 2024, among 292 known offenders, only 43 were white; 193 were black. Of the 2,140 known rape offenders, white men comprised the plurality at 904, but 644 were black men, highly disproportionate to the state’s demographics. Black robbery offenders made up 3,619 of the state’s 5,040 robbery offenders in 2024. Aggravated assaults tell the same story: 4,252 black, 3,015 white. Among all arrests, whites accounted for a bare majority at 57,143, while blacks accounted for 31,163, again highly disproportionate to the state’s population demographics.

Worth noting, too: black victims are also highly disproportionate according to race, considering their representation in Minnesota’s population. Crime, as it turns out, is a much more urgent issue for black men and women in Minnesota than Walz’ dismissal suggests. This denial of reality does nothing to do address the issue, which is exactly what Walz hopes to avoid – even when his own administration identifies and quantifies it. Walz is throwing these victims under the bus in exchange for gauzy virtue signaling and posturing.

Profiles in Courage, this ain’t.

Walz intends this as a distraction anyway, even if he demonstrates his own incompetence in another aspect of leadership. The scandal involving an organized fraud ring in the Somalian refugee community is of an unprecedented scope, potentially running into billions of dollars in federal funds. In some cases, Medicaid in particular, the fraud took place in programs administered by the Walz administration, which did nothing to stop it until federal investigators began unraveling the crime spree and tracking the money.

The question now becomes whether Walz is simply incompetent or somehow involved in the fraud. There is no third explanation. The grift was far too massive to have escaped notice, and too obvious to have not prompted enforcement. Walz is attempting to deflect from the scandal by claiming that white men commit far more crime, but even if that were true, how did Walz miss billions of dollars in fraud escaping under his administration? Has there ever been fraud on this scale anywhere originating in any demographic? It doesn’t matter what small-scale crimes others may commit; the sheer scale of organized fraud in a community with close ties to the Democrat Party (DFL) in Minnesota rightly has put that community and those ties under a national microscope.

Walz wants to DEI his way out of a potential criminal investigation. Maybe he’ll end up bolstering his argument about white guys being the real problem in Minnesota.
