Actor Dennis Quaid publicly endorsed reality star Spencer Pratt in Pratt’s campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles this week, adding another well-known name to the growing list of Hollywood figures backing the former television personality.

Quaid, who portrayed former President Ronald Reagan in the 2024 film *Reagan*, voiced his support during an interview with Fox News on Wednesday.

When asked about the mayoral contest, Quaid simply said, “Go Spencer Pratt.”

Pressed further on his reasoning, the actor laughed and replied, “Why? What are you talking about, why? Just look around, man.”

Pratt’s campaign, which has drawn increasing attention as the election nears, has recently received a range of Hollywood support.

Among those contributing to his bid are Katharine McPhee, David Foster, Haim Saban, Justine Bateman, and Jenny McCarthy.

Television producers Craig Plestis, known for The Masked Singer, Jeff Jenkins, recognized for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and Sandra Lee, the dermatologist behind Dr. Pimple Popper, have also aligned themselves with Pratt’s campaign.

A recent report from Newsweek highlighted that incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass faces a competitive reelection race as Pratt continues to gain ground in second place.

According to the outlet, Bass may encounter difficulties surpassing the 50 percent threshold required in the June 2 primary.

If that mark is not met, a runoff would take place between the two candidates with the highest number of votes.

Newsweek also noted that Bass’s approval ratings have fallen and that her handling of wildfires during her term has drawn criticism, weaknesses that rivals intend to use against her.

Bass, however, secured a significant endorsement of her own this week when actor Samuel L. Jackson announced his support for her campaign.

In a video released for Bass’s reelection effort, Jackson said, “These are the times we need someone who understands government, who also understands the needs of the people. Someone who will go on the streets and gather the people together. Not someone who will divide them. Karen Bass is that person. Karen Bass for mayor.”

Bass shared Jackson’s endorsement on her social media account, writing, “Honored to have the endorsement of my dear friend. Sam has always shown up for the people and causes he believes in – and I am grateful he is showing up for Los Angeles. We’re aligned on the change I’m working to bring to L.A. That means getting more people off the streets into housing and connected with comprehensive services. It means more affordable housing units being built. And it means continuing to lower crime down to historic lows.”
