We Have Subpoenas Out. It’s Not Rocket Science’: Kash Patel [WATCH]

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the mechanics of federal investigations and emphasized the administration’s support for law enforcement, highlighting the role of subpoenas, grand jury proceedings, and executive backing in enforcing the law and maintaining public safety.

Patel explained that investigations rely on well-established legal processes, beginning with the collection of records and continuing through witness testimony before a grand jury.

He said these steps are essential to building cases that can ultimately be presented by prosecutors.

“You have subpoenas out. It’s not rocket science. Investigations are done by acquiring records. Investigations are then furthered by putting witnesses in the grand jury and making a presentment for a case, which our partners at the Department of Justice and the Attorney General will do in any case,” Patel said.

He stressed that such procedures are routine and necessary components of the justice system, designed to ensure that cases are properly developed and reviewed.

Patel framed these steps as foundational to lawful enforcement actions carried out in coordination with the Department of Justice.

Patel then turned to the broader role of presidential leadership, crediting President Donald Trump with ensuring that law enforcement agencies have the tools and authority needed to operate effectively.

He said Trump has provided both material resources and a clear directive to enforce the law without interference.

“But let’s make one thing absolutely crystal clear, under President Trump’s leadership, he has supplied law enforcement the resources they need to protect our American communities,” Patel said.

According to Patel, that support extends beyond funding and equipment to include a firm stance against obstruction of investigations.

He said the administration has made clear that no individual is exempt from the law.

“He has also given us the mandate to enforce the law, and the law is simply this, no one, no one elected official, private citizen or otherwise, gets to impede and obstruct a law enforcement investigation. No one,” Patel said.

Patel emphasized that the FBI is committed to carrying out its mission in coordination with other federal agencies, particularly the Department of Justice, and that this cooperation is guided by the president’s directive to prioritize public safety nationwide.

“And this FBI is committed to working with our interagency and our department of justice partners under President Trump’s mandate to make sure Minnesota and every other city across this country is safe,” Patel said.

He pointed to recent enforcement outcomes as evidence of that approach, citing what he described as a record year for the FBI’s work, including in Minnesota. Patel attributed those results to leadership at the top and to the clarity of purpose given to federal law enforcement.

“And that’s why we’re having the record year that we’re having under President Trump’s brilliant leadership,” Patel said.
