“We have to look at expanding health care, especially gender affirming care,” Hong declared.

“We have to make sure that communities are coming together to stand up for trans rights.”

Hong lamented that some hospitals had paused such procedures and urged her listeners to “invest in clinics to still provide that care” while promoting what she called “trans joy.”

For Wisconsin families who believe children should be protected from life altering procedures before they are old enough to vote, Hong’s remarks sounded more like a warning than a campaign promise.
