President Donald Trump delivered pointed remarks criticizing what he described as systemic media bias, omissions by the January 6 committee, and widespread election integrity failures, while renewing his call for voter identification laws nationwide.

His comments touched on coverage of his January 6 speech, security decisions at the U.S. Capitol, and what he characterized as severe corruption in California’s election system.

Trump argued that the media has consistently distorted or omitted facts that contradict prevailing narratives about his actions and intentions, particularly surrounding January 6.

He said the problem is not a lack of evidence but how information is selectively presented.

“You know, we have so much ammunition. We have ammunition. The problem is the fake news,” Trump said.

He added that live television appearances reduce the ability of outlets to selectively edit his words.

“That’s why I like being on I’d much rather do live television than do non live because, like when they say, as an example in my speech, peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol peacefully and patriotically.”

Trump stated that those specific words were intentionally excluded from official reports and mainstream coverage.

“Do you know that the unselect committee didn’t report it that I said those words?” he said.

“Do you know that the news never reported the words, walk or March peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol?”

He described the omission as deliberate.

“Do you know they never reported it scandal?” Trump said.

“The unselect committee never reported that.”

Trump also revisited his claim that he offered additional National Guard support ahead of January 6, an offer he says was rejected by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“They never reported that Nancy Pelosi was offered 10,000 soldiers, National Guard soldiers, whatever you want. No, I don’t want them,” Trump said.

He contrasted Pelosi’s response with other officials. “And the mayor, the mayors were in writing. She was more honorable about it,” he said.

Trump then referenced a documentary produced by Pelosi’s daughter, which he said contradicted Pelosi’s public position.

“But Nancy got caught when her daughter did a documentary. She’s a documentary, yes, and she has her mother saying, it’s my fault. I should have taken the soldiers or something,” Trump said.

He said the footage stood out to him immediately.

“I saw that in the doctor. I said, Whoa, this was a major story,” he said, questioning whether the moment had personal repercussions.

“Has she spoken to her daughter since that?”

Trump concluded his comments on the subject by attacking the motives of his critics.

“You know, but wait, but they just, you know, they are vicious people,” he said.

In separate remarks, Trump turned his focus to election laws, singling out California for what he described as extreme vulnerability to fraud due to its lack of voter identification requirements.

He claimed that even asking for identification at polling locations could lead to criminal consequences.

“In California, they not only don’t have voter ID, but if an official at the voting booths, which they don’t have, by the way, because it’s all male, if an official, a voting official, even asks somebody for voter ID, sir, would like to see your identification. Do you come from our country,” Trump said, adding, “They put them in jail for tampering with the election.”

Trump warned that the situation is escalating. “Okay, we got to straighten this out before it gets too crazy,” he said.

He went on to describe California as uniquely corrupt compared to other states. “California is more corrupt than any place,” Trump said.

“California is more corrupt than Minnesota, and I won Minnesota.”

Trump reflected on past election experiences, saying he was repeatedly surprised by what he saw as irregularities.

“I’ll tell you what I did great. There three times. I was surprised three times that ‘,” he said.

He suggested the issue extends beyond his own campaigns.

“They got you one time too, but I heard a long time ago, but they got you,” Trump said, adding that systemic fixes are necessary.

“But they got to straighten those out.”

Trump ended by reiterating what he views as a basic safeguard.

“But we have to have voter ID,” he said.
