Hawn explained that she had been living in a small apartment and often spent time reflecting under the night sky. One evening, she looked up and spoke aloud, expressing that she believed humans were not alone in the universe. “I looked up in the sky and I said, ‘I know you’re up there, and I know we’re not alone, and I want to meet you one day,’” she recounted.

According to Hawn, just four months later she had an intense experience that she interpreted as contact. After a long day of dance rehearsals, she asked a friend if she could nap in her car. That was when she says something impossible to explain began to happen.

“I heard a high-pitched sound in my ear,” Hawn said. She described feeling paralyzed, unable to move her body or even lift her hand. “I was completely paralysed,” she recalled.

When she looked outside the car window, she said she saw figures staring back at her. “Two people… looking at me with triangular-shaped heads, sort of silver color,” Hawn stated. She explained that they seemed to communicate through sound rather than words.

Her description matches an earlier account she shared on an episode of Time to Walk on Apple Fitness+ in 2023. In that discussion, she reflected on that same period of her life and said it was during a time of frequent UFO sightings.

“I remember this so clearly: I went outside my door, and I sat on the little ledge, and I looked up at the dark sky,” she said. “And I saw all these stars. And all I could think of was, How far does this go? How little are we? Are we the only planet in the whole wide universe that has life on it?”

Inspired by that reflection, she said she spoke openly into the night sky, expressing a desire to meet other life forms. She believes that moment led to her later encounter.

“I saw these two or three triangular-shaped heads,” Hawn said, recalling the same scene. “They were silver in color, slash for a mouth, tiny little nose, no ears.” She said the beings appeared to be pointing at her and seemed to be communicating with each other as though she were the subject of discussion.

Feeling both paralyzed and overwhelmed, she tried to resist the sensation. “I was paralyzed,” she recalled again. “And I thought, Oh, my God. I want to get up. I didn’t know if it was real or not real.”

Eventually, Hawn said she was able to move and described that moment as “bursting out of a forcefield.” When she ran back to rejoin her friends, she tried to explain what had just happened. “Of course I go back to all the kids and stuff, and I went, ‘Oh, my God. I think I made contact with outer space.’”

The actress maintains that the event, whether real or not, left a lasting impression on her. She spoke of the encounter with a mix of awe and reflection, suggesting that it taught her something about the mystery of existence.
