President Donald Trump and billionaire businessman Mark Cuban appeared together at the White House on Monday to promote lower prescription drug costs through TrumpRx, despite Cuban’s support for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, as reported by the New York Post.

The event highlighted the two men’s long-running “love-hate” relationship as Cuban joined Trump for an announcement that 600 generic drugs are being added to the TrumpRx.gov prescription website.

Cuban, the founder of Cost Plus Drugs, stood with the president as Trump promoted the effort to bring cheaper medications to consumers.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

Trump was asked about working with Cuban, even though Cuban endorsed Harris during the 2024 presidential election.

“Well, he made a mistake,” Trump said. “It was a big mistake.”

LMFAO!! Funniest president ever

Cuban laughed off the comment and later told reporters the president was joking.

“He was playing,” Cuban said. “I’m not going to go there; it doesn’t matter.”

The two men have known each other for more than 20 years. Cuban said after the election that it was important to work with Trump, describing their relationship as one of “love-hate.”

Their back-and-forth was visible during Monday’s White House event. Trump complimented Cuban from the stage.

“You’re looking good,” Trump said.

Trump also said the two men share “one thing” in common.

“We have the same thing — one thing — in common. We want to make people better and keep them wealthy,” Trump said.

Cuban made clear that his appearance at the White House was focused on health care, not politics. Speaking with reporters after the event, he said his past criticism of Trump was “last season.”

“My politics don’t matter to this at all,” Cuban said.

Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs will be part of the expanded TrumpRx.gov effort. Amazon Pharmacy and GoodRx will also join Cost Plus Drugs in selling prescription drugs through the president’s website.

Trump said the addition of hundreds of generic drugs would give consumers a central place to compare and access lower prescription costs.

“By incorporating this massive catalog of low-cost generics at TrumpRx.gov, consumers will now have one source to ensure that they’re getting the lowest possible cost on their prescription, so they have a real option now,” Trump said.

Cuban said health care costs are an issue that crosses party lines and said he and Trump are aligned on lowering prices.

“The goal is to reduce the cost of health care, and we’re 100% aligned,” Cuban said.

“My politics don’t matter to this at all,” he added.

Cuban said he is willing to work with anyone if the result is lower health care costs.

“I’ll align with anyone,” Cuban said. “If you’re going to make health care cheaper, you’re my new best friend.”

Cuban founded Cost Plus Drugs in 2022. The company bypasses insurance and sells drugs at cost with a 15% markup and fees for pharmacy labor and shipping.

It also publishes what it pays manufacturers for medications as part of its transparency model.

Cuban said his goal is to make health care, one of the country’s most expensive industries, cheaper for Americans.

The report noted that health care costs in the United States generally rise faster than inflation and remain one of the most expensive cost-of-living pressures for consumers.

Cuban, who previously considered a presidential run, ruled it out while standing outside the West Wing on a 92-degree day.

“Hell no,” Cuban said. “Too hot.”
