Dems Spiral Again as Ro Khanna’s Spin for Platner and Slam at Schumer Backfire Spectacularly [WATCH]

Democrats seem to have a bottomless talent for political self-sabotage, and Rep. Ro Khanna has just proven it again.

His over-the-top defense of embattled Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner has left even loyal party operatives cringing.

What could have been a quiet weekend of damage control for the Democrats morphed into yet another national embarrassment, courtesy of a lawmaker who cannot seem to read the room.

Platner’s candidacy has been in freefall since a bombshell report in The New York Times revealed disturbing allegations about his past behavior toward women.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

The allegations were serious enough to make most politicians swiftly distance themselves.

Instead, Khanna decided to double down, labeling the accusations “wrong and toxic,” yet praising Platner for supposedly seeking “redemption.”

That alone was reckless, but Khanna did not stop there.

At a rally in Bar Harbor, Khanna told voters that Platner represents the kind of senator Maine deserves, claiming he stands “against the billionaire class, against genocide, and for the working class.”

It was the kind of predictable left-wing script that completely ignored the gravity of the situation.

Supporting an accused abuser while pretending to be a champion of women’s dignity is a special kind of hypocrisy, even by Democratic standards.

Khanna attempted to spin the scandal further by saying, “No one should make excuses for his past relationships, some of which were toxic and volatile, and no one on our side should attack any of the women who came forward.”

He claimed that Democrats “believe in respecting the equality and dignity of women.”

WATCH:

It was a stunning statement, considering that Platner himself has launched one personal attack after another at the women who dared to come forward.

Platner’s behavior since the allegations surfaced has been anything but remorseful.

He branded a former campaign staffer’s whistleblower report as “journalistic malpractice” and accused his ex girlfriend of lying during an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

“Anything alleging physicality, anything alleging that I knew what my tattoo was, these are the statements of someone who’s politically motivated,” Platner said.

When Hayes pressed him, asking whether he was calling his ex a liar, Platner replied, “Yes, that is not true.”

None of that sounds like a man taking accountability. Yet Khanna’s defense portrays Platner as a reformed advocate for equality.

It is a laughable fiction that no one outside of MSNBC green rooms could take seriously.

The entire situation has turned into another showcase of the left’s selective morality, where “believe all women” quickly becomes “smear the women” when the accused carries a blue campaign banner.

Khanna took the absurdity even further when he blamed Platner’s alleged behavior on military service.

He suggested that serving in combat “broke” him, along with “thousands of others.”

That comment landed like a slap across the face of America’s veterans, many of whom have served honorably without ever mistreating anyone.

For Khanna, apparently every scandal demands a sociological excuse that shifts the blame off the Democrat involved.

The irony deepened when Khanna tried to present himself as the voice of integrity on social media.

He posted that “we should not attack the women who told their story or journalists.”

Yet he continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with a candidate who has done exactly that in media interviews.

Platner has refused to accept responsibility, dismissing the evidence as lies and political games. It is the kind of duplicity voters are growing sick of.

The optics get worse for the Democratic Party at large, particularly Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Platner previously called for Schumer to step down, and Khanna casually echoed that sentiment at the rally.

WATCH:

Despite being publicly undercut by members of his own party, Schumer still refuses to break from Platner, choosing party loyalty over decency once again.

The weakness is stunning, but it fits the pattern of Democratic leadership that bends in whatever direction the progressive mob demands.

Khanna once styled himself as a pragmatic moderate who might represent the future of a mainstream Democratic Party.

Those days are long gone.

His willingness to throw logic, consistency, and common sense out the window just to keep in good standing with the radical base signals that ambition, not conviction, drives his politics.

Rumors are already swirling that Khanna is angling for a presidential run in 2028, and his desperate pandering is impossible to ignore.

The voters of Maine have every reason to question why their state became ground zero for another Democratic meltdown.

Instead of removing a toxic candidate and rebuilding credibility, the party elite has surrounded Platner with a protective bubble of excuses.

That might work in the closed circles of Washington, but regular Americans can see through the spin.

Khanna’s defense of Platner and his casual jab at Schumer have only deepened the fractures within the Democratic coalition.

When your top figures cannot even agree on what constitutes accountability, you are in serious trouble.

The moral posturing that defines modern liberalism keeps colliding with political self interest, leaving the party stumbling from one scandal to the next.

The entire saga perfectly captures why so many Americans no longer trust Democrats to lead.

When the choice between truth and loyalty arises, they always seem to sacrifice the former.

Ro Khanna’s grandstanding has not saved Graham Platner; it has only reminded voters that the left’s so called moral high ground is a rapidly eroding hill.
