Fetterman Dares El Sayed to Keep Hasan Piker Close as Michigan Senate Feud Explodes [WATCH]

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman is warning Democrats that Abdul El Sayed may have transformed a crucial Michigan Senate contest into a Republican opportunity.

The blunt assessment comes as Democrats face another internal brawl over socialism, Israel, and the party’s increasingly radical activist wing, as reported by Fox News.

“He has put, you know, that seat in play,” Fetterman told The Washington Post.

His warning carries added weight because Michigan is among roughly a dozen contests expected to determine which party controls the Senate.

El Sayed defeated establishment favorite Rep. Haley Stevens in the most expensive Democratic Senate primary in history.

More than $80 million flooded the contest before voters selected El Sayed to face former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers.

The winner will replace retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters, making the race essential for both parties.

Democrats cannot afford to surrender a seat they already hold, but primary voters handed Republicans an opponent loaded with ideological baggage.

Much of that baggage comes from El Sayed’s relationship with socialist streamer Hasan Piker.

Piker repeatedly appeared alongside the candidate, including at a Detroit pool party held the night before the Democratic primary.

Piker previously declared that America “deserved 9/11” and praised Mao Zedong as “one of the great leaders of this world.”

Those are not exactly comforting messages for ordinary Michigan families worried about national security, inflation, manufacturing, and public safety.

El Sayed has claimed that he does not agree with every Piker position, yet he has resisted demands to create meaningful distance.

That refusal has handed Republicans a ready-made argument that the Democratic nominee is comfortable embracing radicals when cameras and campaign volunteers are nearby.

Republican National Committee spokesperson Natalie Baldassarre accused El Sayed of siding with extremists instead of American interests.

She added, “Democrats’ refusal to disavow this clown shows they either share his poisonous ideology or they’re too cowardly to confront it.”

Fetterman challenged El Sayed to keep showcasing Piker once the campaign leaves the friendly confines of a Democratic primary.

“I dare you to continue to campaign with people like Hasan Piker because he now will quickly find out it’s easy to campaign in the echo chamber as a Democrat,” Fetterman said.

That dare cuts directly to the central Republican argument about El Sayed.

Winning applause from socialist activists is one thing, but persuading independent voters, working families, veterans, and Jewish communities across Michigan is a considerably tougher assignment.

Fetterman also blamed figures such as Sen. Bernie Sanders for promoting candidates who thrill the ideological left while creating headaches in competitive states.

His criticism represents another sign that some Democrats recognize the electoral damage, even if party leaders remain reluctant to confront their activist base.

Peters, who supported Stevens during the primary, offered a far more optimistic forecast.

He told Fox News Digital that differences on issues affecting Michigan families would carry El Sayed past Rogers, concluding, “And in the end, that’s why he will prevail.”

The feud became personal after El Sayed attacked Fetterman’s political approach and temperament.

“Fetterman is probably the biggest issue. Fetterman is the sitting counterargument to the kind of Midwest politics that I think really can work,” El Sayed said.

Fetterman responded by highlighting El Sayed’s habit of insulting political opponents.

“He just has like this weird little man syndrome energy just going around insulting people,” Fetterman said. “And, you know, that’s the kind of campaign that he’s run.”

Before the primary, El Sayed insisted he could repair Democratic divisions and welcome supporters of his rivals.

“I think everybody understands what the stakes are. So I’m looking forward to welcoming everybody who might have voted differently in the primary,” he told Fox News Digital.

That promised unity already appears shaky. Former House Judiciary Committee Democratic chief counsel Julian Epstein announced that he would support Rogers, arguing that the Democratic Party had traveled too far left and “lost its moral center.”

The defection gives Republicans more ammunition as they portray El Sayed as outside Michigan’s political mainstream.

Rogers can now focus the general election on El Sayed’s socialist allies, his opposition to military aid for Israel, and the company he proudly kept during the primary.

Fetterman, El Sayed, and Rogers did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment.

The campaign, however, is already taking shape as a referendum on whether Michigan voters want conventional representation or another dose of the activist left’s revolutionary theater.
