Sean “Diddy” Combs was placed in solitary confinement this week after a fight with another inmate, according to a new report.

The embattled music mogul was involved in what TMZ described Friday as a heated altercation at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.

The outlet reported that the incident began after Combs was dissed and then took “matters into his own hands,” though the exact remark that allegedly triggered the clash was not disclosed.

Multiple sources told TMZ that prisoners at the facility scuffled and pushed each other during the confrontation.

Combs, 56, “held his own” during the incident, one insider alleged to the outlet.

Prison staff later separated the men, and Combs was placed in solitary confinement after the fight.

It is still not clear whether Combs remains in solitary confinement.

It is also unclear whether the incident will have any effect on his release date.

Combs was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

He was then transferred from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center to Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix.

His original release date had been listed as May 8, 2028.

That date was pushed back in November 2025 after he allegedly violated multiple prison rules.

However, the release date was later moved up again.

As of last month, it was set for Feb. 23, 2028.

An FCI Fort Dix representative responded to TMZ on Friday but did not offer details about the alleged fight.

“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody. Such information would not be available for the public domain.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons also declined to address details tied to Combs.

The organization would not comment on “disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety and security concerns.”

Combs’ legal troubles began in March 2024, when his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided.

Six months later, he was arrested in New York City.

He was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

In July 2025, the Grammy winner was acquitted of the more serious charges.

He has continued to appeal the decision since then.

Most recently, his legal team argued that tapes connected to the case were examples of amateur pornography and not sex crimes.

Assistant US Attorney Christy Slavik called the April argument “meritless” at the time.

Another appellate judge admitted to being “lost.”

The latest reported prison incident adds another complication to Combs’ time in custody.

For now, officials have not confirmed whether he remains separated from the general prison population or whether the fight will change the timeline for his release.
