Fauci May Have a Bigger Problem Than Contempt Charge Today

Fauci May Have a Bigger Problem Than Contempt Charge Today

Anthony Fauci spent his life as a bureaucrat. He apparently never learned a thing about operational security.

Today, a Senate committee led by Rand Paul (R-KY) will vote to send a contempt charge to the full Senate over Fauci’s refusal to testify while immunized last week. That could lead to criminal prosecution by a Department of Justice that’s likely enthused by the prospect. Fauci’s diaries on government servers would get even more attention in a high-profile trial, laying out Fauci’s lies during the pandemic as well as his infatuation with celebrity, his own and others’.

That may not be the last reveal into Fauci’s character, either. The Wall Street Journal reported late last night that another Senate committee now has a copy of Fauci’s iPhone, used during his management of the pandemic. What secrets might that hold?

A Senate panel investigating Dr. Anthony Fauci has obtained a copy of the doctor’s iPhone, potentially securing even more records related to the doctor’s actions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The copy of the phone was transferred by the Department of Health and Human Services to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which is chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.).

This revelation comes just days after copies of Fauci’s journals were publicly released following their transfer from HHS to Congress. Two Republican senators, Johnson and Rand Paul of Kentucky, have increased pressure on Fauci in recent days to answer questions related to pandemic health measures and the origins of Covid-19.

An iPhone, eh? I imagined Fauci as more of a Google Pixel fellow. Of course, both Apple and Google went full-tilt on the government censorship that protected Fauci from any effective criticism for the first two critical years of the pandemic, until Elon Musk bought Twitter and exposed the conspiracy. Six of one, half-dozen of the other …

What else might the iPhone expose? Julia Roberts’ private number? A picture of Barbra Streisand’s sores? Insider notes from the documentary that painted Fauci as a modern-day saint with sex appeal? The mind boggles. In reality, though, it may not mean a lot. If Fauci had a lick of sense, he wouldn’t have conducted much business on his phone, except for mirroring e-mail and other communications the committee likely already has. Phones are too easily lost to do much in secret on them, although some people really don’t learn that lesson the easy way.

Besides, as the WSJ notes, the iPhone won’t be the final frontier for Fauci. In fact, it may end up being a sideshow, and even his “diaries” may take a back seat to what’s coming:

The phone could be part of more public document dumps on the way: Paul and Johnson have received millions of additional Fauci-related pages from government servers, people familiar with the matter said, and are still pressing for more. And at least four Republican-led states have meanwhile launched their own investigations into Fauci.

The committee means business. However, that will only last if Republicans retain control of the Senate in the upcoming midterms. Democrats have far too much to lose in an investigation of Fauci, especially during the Biden Regency, to allow this probe to continue under their leadership. Even those inclined to toss out the old establishment would likely quail at the revelations such a probe might produce and the political backlash those revelations would provoke.

Besides, Democrats want to investigate Trump, not Fauci, who serves as their poster boy for Expert Rule. Fauci is the model the socialists want to re-impose, not reform.

That doesn’t leave these committees much time to get their work accomplished. Step it up.
