Elite Academia Finally Flames Out in Clueless Heights of Hilarious Hubris

We of the knuckle-dragging classes are watching those in the lofty perches of the academic world, situated in that rarified atmosphere so far above us that rarely the twain shall meet, in resigned disgust.

Flustered elite academia is again grappling with what they see as either another Judas in their ranks – a fabulist taking advantage of their childlike trust in the world existing beneath them. Or compulsively circling the Phaetons to, yet again, protect the sanctity of their holier-than-thou cloister of learning and exclusive specialness. In some cases, both.

At no point during this exercise in reactionary hysteria will there be any self-introspection among those in that community, which is what I find excruciatingly funny considering the cause of the current crisis of confidence. There will be copious collective navel gazing, yet, like the societal vampires they have morphed into, not a single glance in the mirror.

An entire cultural class of overindulged, overeducated eggheads has yet to discover how superficial their bubbleworld has become. Worse for them is that we peasants, we hoi polloi, can now see through the thin shell left of what was once a mighty crystalline palace built on the shoulders of intellectual titans and centuries of scholarship.  All the naked little smug self-congratulatory frauds skittering about in a frenzy inside are as clearly visible as if it were Uncle Miltie’s Ant Farm – just sporting the Nieman Marcus upcharge.

The jig was up a while ago, and here regular folks were already standing, in awe no more. Our previous level of respect and deference was chewed away, sometimes in nibbles, most often in chunks, by the arrogance of an educated class that chose to constantly demean and demonize, if they noticed our existence at all.

The same class carried the same attitude unflinchingly through plagiarism scandals at the highest levels of what were once revered institutions. Where such a transgression was unthinkable to the lower orders and would have resulted in some form of accountability, at that esteemed echelon, colleagues rushed to excuse it. To twist the sin into the sinner being the victim.

We watched the machinations, too, as the elite education cabal swung a cloak around the miscreant to keep them within arm’s length and employed. Oh, maybe you didn’t get to be the President of Harvard anymore, but you kept your tenured professorship.

SCHWEET

We noted the hypocrisy and the double standards as they piled up while we went to work every day, got our hands dirty, paid those bills, and ever more easily ignored the disdainful sniffs from the fools on that diminished golden hill.

It got dingier by the day.

And now, with this…I guess, what? ‘Scandal’ breaking from *gasp* legendary Cambridge and one tall-tale-spinning fabulist of color, Jason Arday, everything that is wrong with the Holy Order Empire of Academic Higher Elites is encapsulated in one unbelievable, seismic event.

John had a rundown last night, as Professor Arday had just resigned over the plagiarism charges and claims of professorships at other universities besides Cambridge, which turned out to be, to put it kindly, not true.

But the fact that this clown had a job at all and what happened when someone started asking ‘How does this clown have a job at all?’ is the real story of what’s wrong with this insular kingdom.

Had Professor Arday walked through the doors of a Target and filled out an application the way he did at Cambridge, he would never have gotten a call-back, and the HR department would have been howling that this guy thought he could punk them.

At Cambridge, he got the keys to the university.

Right off the bat, let’s get the defense out of the way.

THEY’RE TRYING TO SMEAR HIM FOR PLAGIARISM

Jason Arday is the youngest Black professor in Cambridge’s history – and now rightwing newspapers are trying to smear him with untrue accusations of plagiarism.

And away we go and I’m going to give you the short version, because it’s a long, long list.

To start with and central to his whole miracle existence, Arday has claimed he was diagnosed as autistic at three, was non-verbal until he was 11, and did not learn to read or write until he was 18.

Which some people have noted is very strange for someone who graduated with his high school certificate.

How’d that happen?

HOW DARE YOU!

Oh, but he’s done so much more in his young life, and it’s truly amazing he could pack it all in to so few years.

The Jason Arday story gets funnier the more you dig into it.

He’s a black Cambridge University professor of sociology has been caught plagerizing the work of others. Arday claims to have not been able to talk until 11, and learned to read and write at 18.

— Richard Hanania (@RichardHanania) July 28, 2026

…”In 2023, at age 37, he became the youngest black full professor in the history of Cambridge. He is one of the youngest people of any race to ever hold a chair professorship at Oxbridge.

In his spare time, Arday ran 30 marathons in 35 days and 300 miles in three days.

As of 2023, he had worked with ‘more than 70’ charities and raised more than £5 million.”

Oh, and he’s “barely slept” over the last 15 years.

Despite not being able to read and write at the time, he somehow got a General Certificate of Secondary Education, which generally requires that one be literate.

30 marathons in 35 days, or 300 miles in three days,  would make him an elite-caliber athlete, and there is no evidence he ever did this other than his own words.

It’s like performance art to see how desperate academics are for an inspirational black story. “Let’s make the guy a serial plagiarist, and have him invent ridiculous stories about himself that would fall apart the moment anyone bothered to look.”

The Spectator has been kind enough to put together some of the more outlandish ones, none of which were apparently questionable in the least to Cambridge.

The marathon story gets even better with a full telling.

…Athletic prowess: Arday claimed that he once ran six hundred miles between Edinburgh and London in six days for charity, an accomplishment which would put him in the upper tier of world ultra marathon runners. He also claimed that he ran run thirty marathons in thirty-five days. On the twenty-first marathon he suffered from an epileptic fit and fractured his leg after falling down. This did not deter him and he went on to finish the remaining nine marathons.’ ‘To this day, I don’t really know how I did it,’ he recalled.

…Full to the brim: Arday claimed that he went to both South America and West Africa to install water points. WaterAid said that they never send their volunteers abroad, ‘out of respect for the people we work with, we don’t encourage or facilitate self-funded visits either’.

There’s an Arday riff on the horse’s head in the bed scene from The Godfather.

…First they came for the professors of sociology: Arday has made several claims about physical threats. He claimed that masked men threatened him twice if he failed to resign, the second time at knifepoint. The CCTV in his building did not catch these intruders. He told the Guardian that a severed pig’s head was sent to his family home, and that the police had chased this up, finding that a butchers in South London had sold a whole pig the morning that the incident occurred. The police told the Guardian ‘categorically’ that no such investigation had taken place, and the butcher which Arday said the pig had come from also said that they had no recollection of selling the pig.

And he has been both a sports and telly star…in his head.

…Back of the Net: Arday claimed in an interview at the University of Bath that he played academy-level football, and that he went on to play semi professionally. This claim has not been repeated in his to-be-published autobiography. He has not explained which club he was attached to.

…A star is born: Arday claimed that he was in the BBC documentary Seven Up. Seven Up was a television series that followed the lives of ten boys and four girls in England. It began in 1964, more than twenty years before Arday was born in 1985. The BBC said that Arday had ‘nothing to do with our films’.

Shamefully, when, as I noted above, someone interested enough to notice how more than a few of these seemed to be fantasy-driven, Arday, the simple autistic with the incredible life, reacted poorly when he found out about it.

Arday called the police on the reporter, who then told him to back off.

Police investigated journalist who tried to expose Cambridge professor

Reporter accused of harassment after emailing series of questions to Jason Arday about his academic record

Scotland Yard investigated a journalist trying to expose a plagiarism row and told him to stop asking a Cambridge professor questions.

Jack Grove, a reporter for Times Higher Education (THE), was accused of harassment after he emailed a series of questions to Prof Jason Arday about his academic record. Mr Grove said officers told him to stop contacting the professor because his “mental health” had been affected by the questions.

Prof Arday also hired the law firm Carter-Ruck, which suggested in a letter to THE that its “apparent attack” on him “may be… racially motivated”.

The Metropolitan Police spent four months looking into the claim of harassment before deciding in February to close the case.

The police did not interview Mr Grove, who only found out about the investigation when the Met contacted him to inform him that they would not be taking action.

The Met also reportedly passed on a complaint to another force about an academic who was also looking into the academic record of Prof Arday, but the other force refused to investigate.

The Met is among forces that have been accused in recent months of wasting time on pointless investigations while insisting that they do not have the manpower to routinely attend burglaries and other crimes.

Isn’t that the neatest thing?

And here’s Cambridge, reputedly one of THE finest universities on the planet…clueless. With DIS GUY as their celebrated hire.

YOU ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD AT WHAT YOU DO

Never forget that @Cambridge_Uni defended disgraced DEI Prof Jason Arday’s plagiarism and said he was “the victim of a vile campaign.”

Prof Hilary Cremin, the dean and head of faculty, said this on record about Arday: “You are the best in the world in terms of the research you…

Well…was.

Because he’s resigned and will have to find some other gig.

Oh. And about that resignation letter, filled with zero apologies and lots of recriminations against his accusers?

The elite academic let AI write it.

Arday has resigned… with a 100% AI-generated letter. Incredible. https://t.co/cLsxPs48UR pic.twitter.com/yXdUsQ4CMS
