Hasan Piker Blasts Dem Voters as ‘Islamophobic Pieces of Sh*t’ [WATCH]

Political commentator Hasan Piker criticized Democrats who opposed Abdul El-Sayed during Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary, accusing them of Islamophobia and arguing that they should now unite behind the party’s nominee ahead of the general election.

Piker, who has publicly supported El-Sayed, made the remarks during a livestream following the conclusion of the Democratic primary. And that is precisely what Piker is demanding now that the primary is finally over. And in this case, it’s Piker who’s making Islam the issue, not to mention Israel.”

The exchange added another point of debate to an already closely watched Michigan Senate race. El-Sayed’s campaign has attracted support from a number of progressive activists and public figures, while also drawing criticism from political opponents during the primary season.

With the Democratic nomination now decided, attention is expected to shift toward the general election, where party leaders typically seek to consolidate support from voters who backed other candidates during the primary.

Piker’s comments instead focused on those Democrats who opposed El-Sayed during the nomination contest, arguing that they—not the nominee—should be responsible for moving past the divisions created during the campaign.
