How Hard Is It to Oppose Killing Your Own Children?

Is Lindsay Clancy, the mother who strangled her three children with an exercise band, a role model for all mothers?

Apparently, the answer is “Yes.” At least according to the thousands of women — primarily mothers — who have rallied to her side and raised over a million dollars to defray her legal expenses.

For these women, Clancy is just like them.

ObGyn, who has three children, says she is “proud” of Lindsay Clancy, who is on trial for strangling her three children to death with exercise bands.

“… I don’t know what else you could have done. You were far beyond what should be expected of a single individual.”

“… I don’t know what else you could have done. You were far beyond what should be expected of a single individual.”

“I’m not quite ready to tell my story yet. But when I eventually do, it’s going to be because you came first…”

AS I said, Clancy has become a role model for some women, and I can imagine few more disturbing facts than this.

Hundreds of women have lined up outside the courtroom to express their support for Lindsey, many of whom are carrying their children as they wave at the police van carrying her to court. Thousands have taken to TikTok to share their admiration for Clancy and revealed that they, too, have considered murdering their children.

Supporters have swarmed the court for a chance to see their hero. They see in Clancy an avatar for their own struggles coping with life.

Mothers and grandmothers see in Clancy a person who has faced struggles similar to their own, and of course that is the truly scary thing.

You see yourself in a woman who spent 10–20 minutes strangling her children, and her other children were forced to watch it happen. She did the deeds one by one in the basement, after sending her husband to the store so she could get him out of the house. She planned it, executed it, and then tried and failed to kill herself.

There is a name for this type of thinking and behavior: Cluster B personality disorder. We all know people who fit in this category: they are obsessed with themselves and their emotions, have little actual empathy for others, although they often claim to, and little emotional control. Many seem to revel in a sense of victimhood.

What’s different today is that our society has released the Id and encouraged people to embrace their status as victims. We celebrate it as our “true selves,” and tell people that the goal in life is self-realization.

Attorney Alex Thomason says he is using TikToks to file motions to have children removed from their psychotic mothers.

“This is about children, not about parent rights.”

“If you look at Lindsay Clancy, she had a husband who made $400,000. She had a mother, a father. She had multiple doctors.”

“She had more help than anyone that I have had… So when I look at, what’s the defect here? Well, the defect has to do with how people are identifying with a child killer.”

Of course, it’s not that these people are embracing their “true selves”; they are embracing their worst selves and externalizing their own sense of victimhood to others while they are at it. They pick and choose who is the victim and who is the oppressor, and they encourage each other to embrace their own hatred.

There’s a new “Same, Lindsay” trend on TikTok, with mothers filming themselves with their children while saying they feel the same way as a woman who strangled her own 3 children to death.

You can be certain that in the Venn Diagram of life, many of these women are the same people who embrace the illegal alien rapist that Trump is trying to deport and the pedophiles who tried to kill Kyle Rittenhouse.

As a cultural phenomenon, we have to find a way to stamp this out, and the first place to start is to “denormalize” people embracing their worst impulses.

But we also have to take away their children, because they are at risk. If a mother can see herself strangling her children, she should be nowhere near those children, and no man should consider marrying one.

So much of the insanity of the past few years has been fed by an embrace of fear, anger, narcissism, and victimhood. The sense of victimhood that we encourage in people is used to justify the very worst in people. We have broken down the norms that tame the worst in humanity and encouraged people to embrace it.

Life is hard. Sometimes we need help. We all hit highs and lows.

Embracing our emotionalism is the exact wrong thing to do. And the current world of TikTok “normalizes” our worst impulses.
