A 28-year-old Fort Lee, New Jersey, man was arrested after he was filmed dancing and jumping on the back of a moving flatbed truck as it crossed the George Washington Bridge, according to reports.

Arnesia Crawford was seen riding on the trailer as the truck traveled across the upper level of the bridge and into New Jersey on September 3. The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m., with video of the stunt later posted to TikTok.

The footage was recorded from inside the cab of another truck and showed Crawford moving around the flatbed while traffic continued across the busy bridge.

At various points, Crawford jumped up and down and appeared to perform for people traveling nearby. He also moved toward the front portion of the trailer before returning to the main section.

Other motorists and truck drivers appeared to recognize that something unusual was happening and attempted to alert the driver of the flatbed.

“There’s a guy!” the person recording the video could be heard shouting toward the truck driver.

Several vehicles were visible behind the truck as Crawford continued his impromptu performance. Drivers also honked their horns in an apparent effort to get the trucker’s attention.

The video was posted by TikTok user John Ortiz, who captioned the footage, “Only in NYC… WILD.”

The video quickly drew attention because of the unusual circumstances. Crawford was traveling on an elevated section of the George Washington Bridge, which spans the Hudson River and connects New York City with Fort Lee, New Jersey.

It remains unclear how Crawford initially got onto the flatbed trailer. It was also not immediately known whether the truck driver realized that Crawford was riding on the vehicle.

Port Authority Police officers arrested Crawford after the truck crossed the bridge. Authorities subsequently charged him with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Following the arrest, Crawford was taken to a hospital for further evaluation, according to the report.

Officials did not immediately provide additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

It was also not immediately clear whether Crawford was experiencing a mental health issue or whether any substance use was involved.

The Port Authority had not provided additional information about the case at the time of the report.

The incident took place during a busy period on one of the region’s most heavily traveled transportation routes.

The George Washington Bridge carries traffic between Manhattan and New Jersey and is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The video showed Crawford remaining on the moving trailer while surrounding traffic continued at highway speeds.

His movements included walking and jumping across portions of the flatbed before he moved closer to the truck’s cab.

The footage also showed the man continuing to dance as another vehicle passed the truck. The person recording appeared to be attempting to warn the truck driver about Crawford’s presence.

Authorities ultimately removed Crawford from the trailer following the vehicle’s crossing of the bridge.

The arrest brought an end to the unusual incident, although several questions remained unanswered, including how Crawford gained access to the trailer and how long he had been aboard the truck before motorists noticed him.

The case comes as authorities continue to deal with safety concerns involving pedestrians and unauthorized individuals on major bridges and highways.

The Port Authority has not indicated whether additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

Crawford’s next court proceedings and any additional information about the charges were not immediately available in the report.

For now, the available video provides a striking account of what motorists encountered on the George Washington Bridge on September 3, when a man unexpectedly turned the back of a moving truck into a stage while traffic continued around him.
